Boytoy ran the steam version of FFXI on his comp, and he's wondering if he's able to run windower through it? (I know this isn't windower forums, but figured there's enough people here that know all about this stuff that might be able to help).

I installed FFXI through steam recently and it works just like regular install for me in Windows 7. I just extracted Windower and it ran fine, nothing you really needed to do extra. If you want you can add the launcher.exe shortcut to Steam and launch it from "my games" as well. Does that answer your question?
tyty he's at work now so I'll have him try it tonight![]()
Hi, this is Ksandra's boytoy so to speak.
The problem I'm having is that I recently installed FFXI via the DLing through Steam.
And according to windower I'm missing registry or something
Here is the image.

This was a totally fresh install started clean etc.
easy fix. right click on windower and run as admin.
Mine did not work till i booted ffxi up for the 1st time (after the update) and ran as admin. Also DL windower 3.42 i think it is fixed a lot of small things for windows7.
order of events
1)DL from steam.
2)Load from steam
3)update like normal, this includes all updates in FFXI(do not use of windower)
4)log out of FFXI
5)DL windower if you have yet to
6)Right click it> properties > compatibility > Run as admin
7)Load windower
should work fine.
Hmmm thanks, I'll start patching when I can to see what happens.
