[Heian]

This is a place to post all of your sketches, doodles, paintings, or other creative endeavors.

Only rules are that it has to be generated by hand, for example no photoshop/illustrator generated images, and be safe for work.

Just a couple of samples by request to get it started. I'll post more at another time if this takes off.

My favourite thing to do right now is to make myself sketch with shitty ballpoint pens; you have to work with fuck ups, and the lack of consistency of inkflow lets you sort of fake-sketch.

That was all me, was trynna be sneaky. That was actually crazy fun to do, did the sketches and took them outside and burned them with my cigarette to get the paper yellowed and whatnot.

Isla, I do the same thing with ballpoints from time to time, and the watercolor work looks good. I still have not fully had time to experiment with them. I will try and find some of my old charcoal work, but I will have to take pics as they are all 24"+ dimensions.

Watercolour is amazing; my mum has done watercolour all her life but I'd never used them seriously before the above. It's such a patient medium, especially once you start doing layers and layers of colour wet-into-dry (the technique names are awesome for innuendo as well) to make glazes. It just takes a lot of prep time as far as stretching the paper and allowing previous layers to dry before putting on the next wash.

I would love to see some charcoal work, that is something I haven't spent much time on!

this is why I could never get into painting. I'm impatient as hell when it comes to art. even digital 3d stuff, which is appealing in a lot of ways, gets too tedious for me.

Only charcoals I still have left, I think a family member has my self portrait as a gift. Everything else did not survive or was given out. These were back in 2004, forgive the shittyness of drawings and the photos. Also I am too lazy to resize.
