Car Radio Instillation help

I need some help figuring out the wiring for my new radio. If you feel like giving some live support pm me and i'll send you my s/n. My main question is about which wires i have to splice. I bought a wire harness but it has extra wires which im not too sure about. Thanks in advance

Match all the colors, leave the ones that don't match out, it's pretty simple. Black goes to a ground wherever.

but the new head unit has rca inputs. I have the adapter for it but the adapter has loose wires which im not sure need to be connected.

for me there were random wires in there too on the harness, just leave them alone. don't splice any wires, the whole point of the harness is to make it so you don't need to

RCA Inputs are for auxil. connections. RCA Outputs are for amplifiers that you connect subs and/or speakers too. Like they said, just connect what you can. Black Ground, etc etc etc. I do alot of peoples stereos for them.
Sometimes you end up with loose wires because the wiring harness kits are generic for a certain make, or a range of makes. Not all range of models have all the same features, so like I said, you end up with loose wires (e.g. Dimmer wires)

Whats the year make and model of the car? That bit of info I can most likely tell you which wires are needed to be connected. Also you will always have some wires that are not used if you are using an aftermarket harness (which I highly recommend) to connect to the wire harness provided with the head unit.

Edit: Was reading over a few different sites, they all say the same for the install. Match the colors, what color is not there is not used.

you could always get a reverse harness which plugs into your new cd player which then is plugged into your vehicle harness. no splicing, no thinking, no problem.

edit: if your car has a stock "premium" stereo like Bose, you might need a particular adapter to make it all work.

isn't that the kind of harness they usually come with from crutchfield? when I ordered mine they included a harness in addition to the one that the head unit came with. All I had to do was solder the 2 harnesses together(or crimp) then plug one end into the stock harness, and the other end into the radio.

Thx everyone i got it figured out finally. The wire harness i bought had a bunch of extra wires i didnt need. But after i saw the diagram i was able to get it going. But now since its a bose system i had, the power lvls are different and i'm afraid to put the volume up lmao
