VanaFest 2010 draws nearer every day! While everyone works to finalize the preparations for the event, the VanaFest 2010 Twitter page is just getting warmed up! In the days leading up to this momentous occasion, the Community Team has prepared a series of trivia questions to test our most knowledgeable Twitter followers. To ensure that the best and brightest don't go home empty handed, we're offering a premier in-game item reward: the Chocobo Beret!

Earning your prize will require a quick wit and the experience of a well-seasoned adventurer. Don't fret, however, as there will be plenty of opportunities to win starting February 23rd and lasting through to the eve of VanaFest 2010, February 27th!

Follow us on Twitter and get real time updates on what is going on at the FINAL FANTASY XI VanaFest 2010 in Tokyo, Japan!
In addition to our constant real-time updates of the event, we'll also be challenging players who follow us on Twitter from February 23-27 with FINAL FANTASY XI trivia questions!
The first five players (amongst English, French and German) to answer each trivia question correctly during the first hour window after the question is released will be awarded with the VanaFest 2010 in-game item: the Chocobo Beret!
In order to be eligible, you must also include your VanaFest 2010 Trivia hash tag (#VanaFest2010Trivia), player character name and World name, or we won’t be able to award your prize.
Keep your eyes peeled for our upcoming tweets and test your knowledge of the world of Vana'diel!

Requirements:
- All contestants must agree to the following terms and conditions.
- Entries must include the correct answer, the VanaFest 2010 Trivia hash tag (#VanaFest2010Trivia),
your player character name and World name in the following format:
@VanaFest2010_EN “Answer” <Character Name>/<World Name> #VanaFest2010Trivia
Ex: @VanaFest2010_EN Shantotto Iamagalka/Shiva #VanaFest2010Trivia
- Only players who have become followers of the FINAL FANTASY XI VanaFest 2010 Twitter page will be allowed to enter the contest.
- Only players with an active FINAL FANTASY XI account will be able to redeem their in-game item. Players who are currently playing in a free trial period will not be considered.
- Answers must be entered exactly as they appear in the game using the same capitalization and
symbols.
- Prizes are limited to one per person.
* Contestants under the age of 18 must obtain the permission of a legal guardian


Contest period:
February 23, 2010 9:00 (PST) to February 27, 2010 15:59 (PST)
Trivia will take place from February 23, 2010 to February 27, 2010 with a total of 4 questions each day at 9:00 PST, 11:00 PST, 13:00 PST, and 15:00 PST.
Each question will be open for one hour. After the one hour window closes, the first five players who answered correctly and included their character name, World name, and VanaFest 2010 Trivia hash tag (#VanaFest2010Trivia) will be contacted by the email address and PlayOnline mail address registered with the associated PlayOnline account notifying them that they have won at a later date.
How to enter:
Become a follower of the FINAL FANTASY XI VanaFest 2010 Twitter page and tweet the correct answer to the trivia questions along with your character name, World name and #VanaFest2010Trivia hash tag.

Contestants must answer the questions in the following format:
@VanaFest2010_EN “Answer” <Character Name>/<World Name> #VanaFest2010Trivia
Required Information:
Entrant’s FINAL FANTASY XI World name and character name.

By submitting your answers, you acknowledge and agree to these terms. Any submission to this trivia contest shall constitute acceptance of the terms.
Prizes are non-transferrable.
Winning contestants may not transfer their claim to a prize to another individual or character.
Employees of Square Enix, Square Enix Inc. and Square Enix Ltd. and their relatives are forbidden from participating in the trivia contest.
The following cases will void entries:
- Incorrect formatting
- Entering an incorrect player character name or World name.
- Deleting the player character which was to receive the prize.

Seriously how many people have asked them to give us a way to get the same online prizes from Vanafest. How terrible, you have to use twitter and deal with ads! You must not like using 99.9% of the internet.

Only an idiot would be upset that SE is finally starting to reach out to it fans through some of the most common and popular methods of communication now a days.
