POL Uninstall/Install Problem

I recently purchased a new laptop, so I'm in the process of loading FFXI onto it and am running into some issues.

I installed the old version of POL and all the FFXI content (original/RotZ/CoP/WotG) just fine. However, since I have Windows 7, the old POL version does not run, so I went and downloaded the Windows 7 version installer from the website.

Following the directions on the site, I uninstalled the old version of POL, then tried installing the new version. When I try to do that, for some reason it seems to think it is already installed and gives me the automatic prompt to uninstall. Obviously not what I want to do. So I'm basically stuck with all the FFXI files installed, but no working POL installed, and no way of installing a working POL (Win7 version) because it thinks it is already installed.

Help please.

try running as administrator, that ends to fix a lot of issues.

Go to your ROM folders, copy/paste somewhere ROM1 ROM2 etc, sound1 sound2 then uninstall it all, reinstall the vista POL and then paste back all the files once FFXI is reinstalled, you'll only have to download like 30 files

The only problem with this is when I try to uninstall the vista POL, I get the following error and the uninstall closes.

Out of curiosity tho have you attempted the uninstall that the new POL is asking you to do? There may be some files it needs to be removed that the original uninstall didn't catch ~

Can try to use CCleaner to clean registry keys / files related to POL otherwise you're good for a hard uninstall through regedit.
