Now that I am thinking about it. I guess this has nothing to do with the person who died, but more with the people who didn't want them to. Coping mechanisms come in many forms and something you wear is readily visible. While something less tangible might have more lasting value, it is not as present as something physical and helps to soothe in the short term. Perhaps a combination, such as a plaque at a memorial garden where a tree was planted in their name, or some such. Hell, you hippies could think of a ton of things like this. Again, my problem has been that money is going into someones pocket instead of doing something worthy to carry on their memory.
