Probably not possible, but I'll ask anyways

Let's say I have my computer hooked up to a monitor. My monitor has 3 channels (HDMI 1 HDMI 2 and VGA). let's say my computer is HDMI 1, would I be able to use my computer to record footage from HDMI 2?

your monitor/tv is just receiving data, not outputting, so no.

Also you have HDCP Preventing that shit with HDMI Connections

Actually the majority of content isn't HDCP enabled, there's a difference between the handshake existing and being enforced.

PS3 is one of the very few devices that enforces copyright protection on *all* digital signals.

Not really relevant to this thread though.

Most of it is enforced from Cable/Satellite STBs though i think. Or for movies at least?

Aside from HDCP, there's that whole thing about your video card not being a video capture card. If you want to capture an HDMI signal, there are a number of solutions out there, the most consumer-friendly probably being something from Blackmagic Design.

Really depends on the specific STB model and the provider, many are not.
