    Can you log into FFXIV and FFXI on the same SE account at the same time?

    Short answer - yes. Just thought I would post this as I looked a while back and couldn't find anything to say whether this was possible or not. I am hoping to get the in-game items and my friend still plays on (and pays for) my FFXI account to use as a spare character / Ein feather mule etc, so I asked SE if I could log into FFXIV at the same time as he was logged into FFXI on the same SE account. Their reply was as follows;

    Multiple account logins simultaneously

    Dear Customer,

    Thank you for contacting the Square Enix Support Centre.

    First of all, we would like to apologise for the delay in response, which is due to the high number of Final Fantasy XIV enquiries we receive at the moment.

    You will be able to play your Final Fantasy XI account and your Final Fantasy XIV account at the same time, even if they are linked to the same Square Enix ID and the games are on different consoles.

    Kind regards,
    Square Enix Europe Support Centre
    Thank you again for contacting us and for your interest in Square Enix products!
    More help and information are available at the Square Enix Support Centre website.
    Hopefully that helps anyone looking to find the answer to the same question.

    Edit: Had to delete email footer as I can't post URLs

    To be honest I hadn't even considered the possibility that you couldn't since it's two different games. Good to know I guess as I'm in the same boat though.

    Didnt know this was a question in peoples minds, and pretty easy to test.
    Yeah, ive had XI and XIV up at the same time every second ive been playing XIV (so like 5 hours over the last 4 months or so, lul).
    No issues at all.

    Should be pretty apparent since youre able to log in to the beta forums the same time youre playing XIV anyway.

    FFXI = Keyboard macroes
    FFXIV = "enable gamepad when application is in background"
    ????
    get kicked by both your LS and guildclan for not paying attention

    You wouldn't know that though because you've demonstrably never picked up a book nor educated yourself on the matter. Let me guess, overweight housewife?

    D:

    I don't play ffxi anymore but I'm surprised no one caught that comment.

    Granted I can imagine for most people playing both on the same comp would rape your face, then melt itself into oblivion. But this might annoy some higher-end computer people if they planned on bazzaring shit n' stuff in XI while playing IV.

    Oh, my fault for being confusing, sorry. I was trying to make a joke about someone playing both games not really playing either.

    The controller can be on in 14 and off for 11 no problem.

    Load up both games, then make sure the FFXI window is selected.

    The keyboard won't do anything to 14, and the controller won't affect 11. The trick is that little "background application" config option.

    You can plug in a second USB controller (after FFXI is up and running) and play each game with its own pad!

    On the gripping hand, keyboard + controller beats out two gamepads.

    I get ya, I think the guys bit had me confused though, he said they couldn't run on the same consoles, so I assumed there's some sort of IP issue with it. But if people were doing it in beta than that probably means it'll be fine on release.

    Only problem you might experience is excessive strain on your system, I had a psu literally blow up while playing FFXI and SCII (1680x1050, full shadows, etc and max settings for sc2) , with a mere 450W psu with a 5770, just configure game settings accordingly.

    That's called being a dumbass and buying a PSU not powerful enough for your system. (Double points because I bet you bought "any" PSU and didn't do build/power quality research.)

    This ^^^. I'd love to see a Corsair @ proper spec blow under pressure.

    I don't have the world's greatest computer (it's about a year old so reasonably up to date) and I could play XI and XIV beta together on it with very little problems as long as I wasn't stupid with settings (and no I'm not talking about making 11 look like SNES version). Hadn't even occurred to me it might have been changed.
