We've seen a ton of "Are you quitting after trial?" threads and all of that.
I was wondering who is planning on staying and why.
I plan to because I like the story so far and I'm HOPING it will get better.

I'm staying because I'm holding on to hope, and I already bought the crysta on 9/21.
Can someone who is good at photoshop "obamacize" the FFXIV logo with the words "hope" underneath it? I'd love that for my ava, because this game elicits more hope than Jesus and Obama in 08 combined!
I play that shit, Egon. I'll look for you. Kane Lives!
I have more patience than six of the average person.
Also, it's a great way to fill bars.
I know it will get better. This game is not launch-ready, but will be later.
I probobly won't play hardcore til some of the more devious issues (skill point gain) are worked out, but I'll continue to amass a small fortune from leves and crafting, as well as hang out with friends still.
Yeah, the biggest issues aren't affecting me much because I'm easing into the game instead of trying to hit the ground running. Just trying to get a financial foundation for when I dive into the melee shit after they solidify some of the inconsistencies.
It'll get fixed eventually. Some people are in a big hurry, I'm not.
The quests are interesting. I'll continue for them, and as others have said, the game will get better. The problem is, with the game like it is, I have little desire to grind out the levels necessary to continue the story.
Hopefully fixes will come soon.
I'm just playing casually for the time being. No rush at all and I'm enjoying myself. I seriously doubt SE will continue to ignore the problems.
I just hope it's sooner rather than later.
I'll keep playing since I'm not hardcore about it. I log in for a couple hours after work 3-4 days a week, and maybe will play an 8 hour Saturday sometimes. I feel satisfied with the amount of work to progress ratio I receive doing this.
Long term outlook would be holding out hope that the basic issues get fixed asap. It's a big turn off that there's no search feature, AH, menus suck, can only open 1 window at a time, market wards are a joke, party mechanics are shit, etc. However, since I'm just basically playing solo until this stuff gets sorted, it doesn't affect my gameplay as much as others.
^^Same.
Sticking with it too, but at my own pace (which is quite a bit faster than the casual player). Also slammed with graduate classes, but making my time to play when I can.
I have hope for the game too. I wouldn't call them "high hopes" though, just the regular flavor. Looking forward to learning about Gladiator and Thaumaturge a bit, and seeing how party play shapes up.
<- is having fun with some cool LS people. That's worth far more than a technically perfect game.
Miqo'te and patience like mentioned, some people can't last more then a few min.. or a few days ;/
Hopefully they don't add something like ffxi's old peacock harm method of obtaining that thing... sat in that cave in pretty much 1 spot for a month staring at the screen for endless hours to get it O_o
I actualy like the game :/
No LS, only botanist and some crafting, searching through bazaars for hours every day, getting no new tool or guild marks and i still have fun. Maybe i'm just weird. I also want to reach max lvl at least once to see the current end of the story.
I only have enough time to play for about 2 hours every other day, so I'm usually just doing leves then logging off. For now I will keep my account because I'd like to progress as the game evolves and gets better. However, if the game isn't patched up and established further (soon) I don't see myself going past January.
Since day one I've felt the game was rushed. Just the thought of not having functions such as search, AH or being able to locate party members on maps is ridiculous.
So I thought what I'd do is .... do exactly that.

Although I can't really say I hate the game, there's definitely some things that need changing.
