Dark piss out of no where.

I been drinking water pretty often the past few days but just now took a piss and it was a dark dark color. No other way to explain it but when it dripped off my dick it looked like blood at first which scared the shit out of me but was a dark yellow. Only thing I had today was plain oatmeal, an apple with some peanut butter, and a little mac and cheese for dinner, nothing too out of the ordinary.

Maybe I'm over reacting?

One dark piss probably isn't something to be concerned about. All sorts of things can make your piss darker than normal. Taking vitamins, sweating more than usual (fluid loss in forms other than pissing causing urine to concentrate), etc etc. Do it for a few days straight? Then worry (and call your doctor).

That's probably not good. That is a sign of hematuria (or blood in the urine).
How often have you had this happen? Are you on any meds right now? Have you sustained any trauma to your lower back or abdomen recently?

Could be a bladder infection if this is the first time you have seen it. But I can't diagnose over a forum...

If you do have repeated instances of this, see a doctor. It is most likely a bladder infection, so some antibiotics should clear it up.

If you are on new meds, those can affect your kidneys leading to blood in the urine as well.

Trauma could also affect the bladder, ureter, and kidneys causing blood to enter the urine.

The fact that you picked 'rust colored' is what leads me to believe it is a case of hematuria. Which is just a symptom that has many causes.

So a little more info please. Are you on new meds? Thyroid meds? Any recent trauma? And most importantly: any pain? Family history of calculi? (kidney stones, gall bladder stones, etc?)

Again, most likely here is : bladder infection, kidney stone, new meds/vitamins, or light trauma.

Always got told dark piss means you're dehydrated, usually get it in the morning. It's a good way to remind yourself to drink lots.
