I've been having a problem with my ISP. Apparently, when I run a ping test on command prompt:
ping -n 300 google.com to test my ping to another site, it has random moments where the connection times out.
I called my ISP, and they said that everything was fine over on their end and that I shouldnt worry about Intermittent Connection problems... Well, when I try to play FFXIV beta these random lag spikes are causing me to actually disconnect from the entire game, unlike in FFXI when I got a lag spike it just dropped to a yellow connection then back up to green. It happens in other games aswell, but the only one it forcefully disconnects is FFXIV. Also, when i'm on YouTube or any other site that deals with downloading or streaming, the entire video will stop, and not continue to buffer until I refresh the page.
Does this sound like something anyone has encountered? If so, I would greatly appreciate the help, as my ISP doesn't seem to know what the problem is.
To save some time:
1. I have gone through power cycles.
2. I have connected directly through the modem with a wired connection, still getting the same results.
3. All my hardware and firmware is up to date.
4. I have around 15MBPS download speed, and 1.1~1.6mbps Upload speed.
5. I have tried setting up Static IPs, and more.
Please help, if anyone knows what the problem is!
