PS3 controller issue

I cannot charge my PS3 controller from my usb ports on my ps3, I have to use my pc. Why is this?

I don't know. I'm sorry, I don't have this issue. Very strange. I have the original PS3 though, the 80 gig brick.

This, iv been using my ps3 controller on my pc for little over a year. The controller randomly cut out every 5-10 minutes, i borrowed my brothers usb cable. No issues
Find another cable if you can. Test that first

probably a retarded question, but is your ps3 on when you are trying to charge it? Ours has to be on for it to work. (not sure if that goes for all models)

It does. USB is shut off in standby mode. Would have been nice to have it as a system option though.
