Dates of Important FFXI Events/Milestones/Fails/Etc

One of my pet peeves is that the update history of FFXI is not in one place, not even on POL/SE Forum, so I've tasked myself to gather everything on the bgwiki while the rest of the guys work on things more important.

A part of this was the thought of including an overarching timeline of the history of FFXI, again something that I've never been able to find in one place.

I ask of you to critique the list I have now, and to also think of other big events that may have happened in game. When did the market crash? When did the servers go down for hours/days unannounced? Other stuffs of interest?

That would be a good one to include. I used 01 for the first few entries as I too couldn't find any firm dates.




I'd like to keep BG specific stuff off of the timeline and keep it more official, but Taj and other hacking/banning events did cross my mind - when did the salvage bans happen?

Significant SE fail, Wings of the Goddess releasing in fall 2007 and didn't get the complete story until spring 2010 update.

Southern hemisphere spring, right? Because it was on December 7th, the same update which finished Abyssea storyline too.

Game was never released in the EU for the PS2, because we never got the harddrive in Europe. Europe did get it at that time for PC though.
