Max Card Settings

I was wondering if anyone has reached the current max settings. On my radeon 4870, before the patch I was able to run everything on the highest settings without too much lag.

Settings were

Window Size 1920 x 1080

Multi sample AA x 8Q

Drawing Quality : Highest

Shadow Detail Highest

Ambient Occlusion and Depth of Field unchecked

Texture Quality: High

Texture Filtering: Highest

Now Settings are


Window Size 1920 x 1080

General Drawing Quality : 8 Standard (Changed)

Background Drawing Quality: 3 Standard (changed

I tried changing both drawing qualities to the highest but my card started reading 90ish so I was like fuck that.

Anyway I'm wondering if anyone has been able to run this game maxed out without SLI(while maintaining decent performance) and if so what card did you use. And by max I meant without Ambiet Occlusions and Depth of Field. I hear those give problems for the highest video card on the market atm

I don't believe your claims because my 6870 couldn't run things at max and get a good framerate.

I still can't run it over 4x MSAA or above 8/3 on the drawing without my framerate starting to dip into the 40s.

480, 980x, WC+OC
about a 5fps increase if you add the second 480 in sli.

and this includes depth of field and AO

Spending 1000 dollars on a 980x is not that realistic lol. But with my 930 and 5870, I can run all settings near max at 1920x1200 so long as AO and DoF are off and 4x AA.

I made the mistake of maxing the general drawing quality. Hoo boy. Never again. I don't know anyone that can max the game currently under the new settings, but we don't know if its fully optimized either.

Cooleko, you max the new drawling quality? I'd like to see a fraps of that.

Yes... Gods yes. Check your settings now, and max them, then come back and post the results. My brother's beast could max the old settings with no problem. We maxed everything Saturday night and received an astounding 2-4 FPS in the middle of Grid.

I suspect highest drawing quality makes the 3D render in super high resolution and then downsamples it to your chosen resolution. Supersampling in other words, and the same effect you got by editing the registry in FFXI.

I likes my 920. Hard to find them now, I think they've been replaced by the 930. I"m using a Corsair H50 to OC it and it overclocks nicely. I haven't had the time to sit down and push the OC though. I just got a simple, quick, stable OC and left it at that. Based on the temps though I could probably go to 4.2 easily.

All I know is that it crushed his rig so badly that every background program was chugging as well, haha. It was an interesting experiment, for sure.

Cranking it up to 10 dropped mine from running at 60 to about 30 in Uldah.

sounds interesting, I'll definitely play with the settings when I get home around midnight, I cant envision the graphics improving anymore than before.

I'm having serious problems running this game right now on my computer.

Case: Azza Hurican 2000
CPU: AMD Phenom X4 965 @ 3.4 GHz
PSU: Corsair 750-W
RAM: 4GB 1600
GPU: XFX Radeon 6870
Driver: 10.11

Applications running: Fraps, Catalyst Control Center and FFXIV.

1680x1050
Multisampling: No AA
General Drawing: 6
Background Drawing: 4
Shadow Detail: Standard
Ambient Occlusion: No
Depth of Field: No
Texture Quality: High
Texture Filtering: Highest

Everytime I play the game no matter what kind of traffic there is near my character my computer activity is 45-70% and the temperature runs at 73-77 C.

Any suggestions?

What is your current CPU cooler? You probably need a better one. What are your FPS looking like?
