Gray hair

I'm 22 and I have fucking gray hairs sprouting up all over the place, and in some lights it's very evident. I'm not all that worried about it, considering I wouldn't mind looking like that silver-haired fox Anderson Cooper, but it's seriously a little annoying when I notice more and more start sprouting up. My dad's all gray now but has a pretty full head of hair and he's 54. Anything I can do or just deal?

Also, one of my MANERISMS next week or the week after will be about gray hair and I'd really like some little quotes or quips or reflections on it to include in the column. Anyone feel comfortable providing any? I can use a fake name or your forum name or whatever, doesn't matter. Here's mine, for an example:

"sometimes i wish i could have a permanent light source hover over my head constantly, because in certain lighting, my gray hair looks blonde. then i remember it's just gray."

This. I miss having nice, thick hair. I'm 25 and it's thinning out way too much above my forehead and my receding hairline has been awful since High School. Shit sucks. I'd say just enjoy it and accept it.

I end up just yanking mine out because its usualy just the one or two white hairs on my goatee or side of my head nothing terribly noticeable yet, though like you I got them around 20, and I'm 24 now.

As others have said, grey hair is better than no hair. Just be glad yours started in your twenties, and not at 13 like mine. Salt and pepper in your twenties will get you plenty of attention if you want it.

Dad's hair was black when he offed himself in his 50's, his grandpa was like 80 with white hair, just starting to thin, but he smoked for 60 years.

Consider yourself lucky that you're not losing grass on the fairway. My hair used to grow so fast in high school that I would have to get a haircut like every 2-3 weeks. Now it's like 2 months and it barely grows.

I shoulda went with my gut and not cut it during HS like I wanted to.

Lately I've just stuck with cutting it really short. It's harder to notice that way.
