Just found 2 PSP's in my closet, pandora battery, magic mem etc

Just found a god of war PSP that's on a realllllly old CFW, a fat black PSP, pandora/magic memory stick etc as mentioned in the title.

What do I do with these? Anything worth charging the psp for and playing or is it worth selling the bundle? I don't even know what this stuff is worth.

Lots worth playing... pandora/mms aren't worth too much now since neither are required to CFW nowadays aside from a few exceptions (old models on the very newest firmware). Check the "What are you playing?" thread if you're looking for games to play, Kuroikage posted a list with a ton of good PSP games earlier you may have missed out on.

I didn't want to make a new thread so I'll post it here. I'm thinking of buying an old psp to hack and do etc with. Any one have any guides they recommend? Also any recommendations on what kind of psp to get? I know I'm gonna have to get a used psp-1000, but any thing else to look for?

You should totally buy my psp-1001 bundle in the Buy-Sell-Trade thread. Already has CFW on it! :D

But anyway, the method I used to put CFW on mine was with a program called ChickHen. I don't know if it is still the 'preferred' method to put CFW on a psp without using a pandora battery, but when I did it a while ago it worked. Although, because of the way it works, it could take a very long time. Basically you put the image-thing on your psp, and then open it, and if you're lucky it'll let you put CFW on your psp. Otherwise it'll just lock-up and you have to try again. It took me a good 5 hours or so before it finally worked.

Although, this is all coming from someone who did this 1-2 years ago, so by now there might be a much better and easier method. Anyway, as for guides, just look some up, they're all over the place. I know that ChickHen worked on most newer psps like the psp-3000, but I believe you had to re-do it every time you booted up the psp. Again, this may all be changed by now, as I haven't looked it up in a long time.

the problem with psp 1000 is that the batteries aren't as good as they are in the more recent ones, and it's hard to find a decent replacement battery. the battery in my psp 1000 bit the dust and i just ended up buying a new psp - 3000 has a much longer battery life than any of the 1000 batteries i could find out there. (besides, my brother's psp broke and i figured i might as well give him my old one.) the difference in weight between the 1000 and the 3000 is ridiculous, though - the 3000 is noticeably more flimsy, and the back where you insert discs feels like it could break off.

i've had my psp 1000 since they came out (my father actually preordered it for me even though i didn't want one) and i didn't start using it until recently. i'm not big on handhelds. there are a lot of worthwhile games, though, which made me go back to it in the past year or so. if you're into jrpgs (my favorite genre), most of the new ones seem to be coming out for psp. they've also remade a lot of old psx rpgs like star ocean 1, star ocean 2 (although the remake is terrible), persona 1 (the remake is actually more complete than the US psx version), lunar silver star story (same as star ocean 2), etc.

if you like rpgs and you can find it, popolo cross is a ton of fun and fairly cheap.

PSP-3000 has a smaller battery (both physically and in its max charge) than the 1000, what makes it work is the much more power efficient hardware. Not sure where abouts you live, but in my area, I can still by the larger official battery from the store that works on all models.
(granted 2000/3000 users have to deal with a bit of a buldge due to the batteries' size, and having to use the battery covers included in that package)

really? i live right outside NYC and the guy at gamestop told me they didn't have anything compatible and i'd have to get one from something like amazon. i checked on amazon and the battery life for the ones i could find that said 1000 were shorter than the 3000. oh well, not the first time someone at gamestop has been wrong. i still remember the one guy that was trying to brag to me about his 21 drk/blm when i was a 75 brd and went to buy CoP. lol.

This is the one my local Walmarts have - http://www.amazon.ca/PSP-Extended-Li...1523758&sr=8-1

    Normal PSP-1000 battery is 1800mAh, PSP-2000/3000 is 1200mAh.
