I have a lot of research articles on my computer that I want easy access to without printing them.
What's the best reader for it that's under $200 or around it.

I'd get a nook color and root it. $249
Kindle works, but it isn't great.
the new nook is out and is only $139 and has already been rooted.

I would go check it out first because the screen I think is smaller than the color but it is so lightweight. It is also a touchscreen like the nook color, but it is eInk, so no color.
I would go look at both and see which you'd prefer.
I actually picked up the new nook earlier today. So far it works great. Most of my pdfs are in column format, so it really spreads it out and screws with the format, but I'll deal.
I was thinking of a tablet, but I didn't want the LCD because I'm reading a LOT of research and I could read them on my computer but it's wayyy too distracting.
So far I'm liking it.
Any experience with torrenting ebooks? Maybe I can read Game of Thrones now that I dont' have a tabbed browser distracting the fuck out of me.
if you have a what.cd account, they have ebooks

download calibre and you can change pdfs to something a bit more friendly.
I used to have a what.cd but I can't seed for shit, so I don't bother.
I've only got a Demonoid account, but you can get plenty of books there. You'll find lots of crappy OCRs, but there are quite a few retail quality as well.
How does a Kindle DX handle PDFs? Or maybe, if the next gen Kindle DX is announced sometime this year, can wait and see how that looks. It's about time for it, anyways.
I've heard that it's the best "ereader" for PDFs, but still has some issues.
But I've also heard that at the price tag of the DX, you might as well get a more versatile iPad or other tablet.
I thought cut2col would work fine, because when it cut and merged it all, it looked fine as the "preview" but it still formatted all weird on my nook.
Any other suggestions or tips?
