People who love their dance, i need some advice!

Hey guys, was just curious about where you guys go to get your fix of dance music? Both events and websites.

Im more into house and trance but pretty much love all variations of dance music.

I'm looking for anything really, festivals, club nights etc. I just know theres so many amazing nights out there and just wanted to see where people went. For example, i only found out about ultra music festival on here, guessing that's because i live in london, but still would have thought i'd hear about it.

    Cheers for any advice guys!

Youtube and UMF is over rated, they have the same people playing every year that's why I didn't go, I went to the Masquerade Motel this yr.
Also, Lady GaGa, I recommend Heavy Metal Lover, Scheiße and/or The Scheiße Mugler remix By Dj White Shadow.

The hardest part of listening to EDM is telling your friends you are gay.

My favorites are Trance and House as well, and some Drum and Bass occassionally. <3 Pendulum. DI.FM (been listening to this site for years, always great stuff) , SiriusXM "The Area"(Used to be Area 33) isn't half bad for finding new music. Been "liking" a lot of groups/labels on FB and they're always posting new music.

As far as events go, try a website called meetup.com and check your area for trance/house/EDM groups. I have been listening to this kind of music for a decade+ but starting going to live events and expanding my EDM horizons through my trance/EDM meetup group, and met a lot of cool people along the way. Ultra is pretty overrated, but probably cool to go once for the experience.

The turns are pretty difficult. But having to tell your parents that you're gay was definitely the hardest part.

I'm into minimal techno, such as Marek Hemmann and Gui Boratto. Ideal for chilling, not for clubbing.

If you decide to make a soundcloud page, stop by mine, http://soundcloud.com/6souls , & follow many of musicians I do. Nearly every major dance dj/producer has a soundcloud page which they use to upload and/or favorite tracks. You can pretty much preview ahead of time the sets they're building. Also, if you use firefox & have a program like Download Helper, you can rip tracks directly from the site.

As for living in London.. head to the newsstand and drop some coin on either MixMag or DJ Mag to stay up with the latest shows/festivals in that region. MixMag also offers discounts to many clubs in that area.

    For good house music:

Handz On Radio - Pretty solid and lots of various mix shows.
Digitally Imported - Multiple sub-genres to select from from old-school house to everything in-between.
CyberJamz - Pretty solid. Variety of mix shows.

As far as nightlife in NYC:
Club Shelter - Need I say more? Currently on 150 Varick (for now lol, if you know about Shelter's infamous moving issues).
Cielo - Kevin Hedge, Lil' Louie Vega, Francois K, to name a few. But, venue (and dance floor) is small.

There are also a lot of other underground dance parties littered throughout NYC. A good resource to find stuff is:
    Deep House Page Party List

sirius bpm and electric area. bpm has more top 40 music with dance mixes along with a good amount of house/trance/dubstep, electric area is more dedicated to trance/house or whatever you might like. Armin Van Buren runs the channel on Sundays - A State of Sundays. bbc radio 1 has 'essential mixes' and you can find a lot of program downloads for popular djs.

as for festivals, if you can get to an EDC (electric daisy carnival) I'd recommend that too, or Ultrafest in Miami but that would have to wait till next year.
