Nike Mag's (The shoes from BTTF 2)

    http://www.back4thefuture.com/

I ntroducing the Future of Nike Footwear

    It’s about time.

Based on an original movie prop used in Back to the Future Part II, the 2011 Nike MAG shoes have been entirely rebuilt and perfected.

They feature an electroluminescent outsole, space-age materials and a rechargeable internal battery good for 3,000 hours.

And while they are not recommended for playing sports, these highly limited shoes will very likely command attention wherever they are worn.
    THE STORY

In 1989, Nike designer Tinker Hatfield was asked to design a shoe for the second chapter in the Back to the Future series. He created the power-lacing, self-illuminating, Nike MAG. Riding on a pink hoverboard, Michael J. Fox made them the most famous shoe never made.

Over 15 years later in 2005, Tinker’s attention was caught by an online petition asking that the shoes come back. With no mold and nothing but an original prop shoe from the film, Tinker and footwear innovator Tiffany Beers began rebuilding the MAG from scratch. It would take six years, three restarts and many thousands of hours. But when it was all said and done, the shoe was a perfect replication of the original and the true predecessor to the 2015 power-lacing Nike MAG.

It would only make sense that the shoes be auctioned to benefit the foundation of the man who made them famous.

And with your help, the proceeds of these shoes will help erase Parkinson’s from existence.

    Great Scott, indeed.
TL;DR - Nike made the BTTF2 shoes with auto lacing, they are going for 4k+ on eBay and only 1500 pairs will be sold, until 2015

Love that they teamed up with The Michael J Fox Foundation to help out with Parkinson's (EOSP ftw )

It really is a shame too, he's always come across as such a nice guy, really unfortunate.

Rush just jelly that his delirium tremens don't produce quite the same sympathy as Parkinson's tremors.

His meds to combat Parkinson's actually causes that. I have a genetic dykinesia and when he's on camera like that I get really uncomfortable because I'm incredibly self conscious that I look like that.

I'm not on anything (I haven't been able to afford to see a decent neurologist in years), but my attacks involve a lot of unilateral involuntary movement. If I have an attack when I'm talking it's incredibly disruptive. I generally don't like people seeing it.

Bitches still clamor over my Nike Heart & Sole shoes made in partnership with Alkaline Trio, Nike's only 100% Vegan shoe and Nike's only skate shoe made in conjunction with a punk band and those were limited edition in 2009, I can only imagine the tail these would get seeing as it takes a lot less discerning eye to notice these BTTF shoes.

MJF is actually looking really good in that video. He's had Parkinsons for nearly 20 years now, and he's still completely capable (albeit medicated) of walking, talking..

Not so much can be said for many sufferers.

And yeah, that's the Dyskinesia from his medicine. Not Parkinsons.

Most of the ones on eBay are fakes. Serious shoe collectors have been after the real ones forever. I'm glad they are making these

Saw that one on the first day went for 75 thousand -- the last day they're gonna be ridiculous.. This whole campaign is really impressive considering how much money these shoes could have made for Nike.
