I was involved in a discussion recently about having pre-op transgendered individuals in sports locker rooms, getting changed with all the (for lack of a better word) "conventionally" gendered individuals.
I noticed that conventionally (again, lack of a word) gendered men were not expected to have to accept pre-op transgendered women in their changing room but conventionally gendered women were expected to accept pre-op transgendered women in their changing rooms without complaint. I voiced a concern that removing my clothing in front of someone with a penis, regardless of their gender, would make me uncomfortable. Needless to say, I was immediately yelled at as a douchebag bigot and various other pejoratives, and told I had to accept them or get out and find my own place to change (in a hypothetical situation). I was pretty surprised that people thought it was okay to force me to change in front of others I was uncomfortable with doing so or pushing me out of the place entirely.
I am wondering what BG thinks of the idea of pre-op transgendered individuals using changing rooms with their unconventional (lack of word) gender. Either gender, either way.
