    Transgendered Changing Rooms

I was involved in a discussion recently about having pre-op transgendered individuals in sports locker rooms, getting changed with all the (for lack of a better word) "conventionally" gendered individuals.

I noticed that conventionally (again, lack of a word) gendered men were not expected to have to accept pre-op transgendered women in their changing room but conventionally gendered women were expected to accept pre-op transgendered women in their changing rooms without complaint. I voiced a concern that removing my clothing in front of someone with a penis, regardless of their gender, would make me uncomfortable. Needless to say, I was immediately yelled at as a douchebag bigot and various other pejoratives, and told I had to accept them or get out and find my own place to change (in a hypothetical situation). I was pretty surprised that people thought it was okay to force me to change in front of others I was uncomfortable with doing so or pushing me out of the place entirely.

I am wondering what BG thinks of the idea of pre-op transgendered individuals using changing rooms with their unconventional (lack of word) gender. Either gender, either way.

Thats exactly what the trans person could say too. Both sides can't get what they want.

I would say it comes down to how far along in their treatments they are. If some guy comes into the women's locker-room still sporting stubble on his face, then yes I can see a possible issue. However, if they have been on the hormone treatments for years, and they see their own junk as being, well, junk more power to them. I would expect them to be aware of the discomfort they could be causing others, and maybe discreetly change in a private corner or stall or something.

I love the word perjorative. I used to use it all the time during briefs to fuck with the overall commander lol.

I don't like the idea, not because of being fair or anything but: changing rooms are usually located in a place of business and I think that place of business has the right to determine who is allowed in what changing room. As long as everyone is allowed in one of them, then there is no issue. If they lose customers over their decision then they need to weigh the consequences of that decision verse their losses and decide if it's a hit they can take.

Personally, I wouldn't want a woman in my changing room and I know my girlfriend wouldn't want a man in hers. Regardless of whether something is or isn't your decision (in terms of who you are) the visual aspect and premise is unnerving to me.

lol who cares. as long as the lady boy isnt beating off in the corner, change your clothes and get on with your life. You really think you are going to encounter enough trannies in the locker room for this ever to be a legitimate question?

Oh I agree with you. I don't think that the transgendered people should be forced to change with people they are uncomfortable with either.

When I suggested a third dressing room I was told that I was making pre-op transgendered women to be less than women and second class, even when I offered to change in the third room myself.

No, don't think so. It was a hypothetical discussion that I found interesting.

The porn stash on my hard-drive says I would love this scenerio, but the secret part of me calls it a liar.

It would take 2-3 of the same sex transgendered people to work out at a gym and encounter 80% of the people who go to said gym. The OP asked a question. You don't care, great.

my point is, what does it matter if someone that probably isn't attracted to you sees your junk for the 2 seconds its out. This country has a seriously terrible attitude about nudity and how sacred it is.

What if the discomfort is not related to sex and sexual desire?

I've spent half my life showering in groups of men, I could give a fuck about being nude.

then your stance is that you are uncomfortable around different people and your friend is probably right.

I'd prefer a pre- or post-op transgender over a couple of the creepy old guys at my gym. It's a changing room, so I don't mind naked people, but the ones who walk around, put a leg up on a bench, and then try to start a conversation in the buff just annoy me.

You wouldn't know that though because you've demonstrably never picked up a book nor educated yourself on the matter. Let me guess, overweight housewife?

I think I'd go along the lines of this, but I see the issue with "how can you tell if they really consider it junk" or w/e. But I think if they're far enough along it wouldn't bother me.

I don't like this line of thinking because it would apply to having "white people" changing rooms and "black people" changing rooms. I understand obviously that there is the separate but equal stance of having a male changing room and a female ones, BUT I think that's kinda where it has to stop. So I guess the line becomes when is a transgender considered a male or female.

So you're uncomfortable with nudity then.

Old people make me laugh, they REALLY just don't give a fuck lol

Ksandra: Right, in a sense but not quite. While it does rely on what stage of an operation they are on, you're then asking a business to make that call. You're not really discriminating against someone if you tell them "You have a dick, go to the mens room". You can stomp left and right and moonwalk down the center about being discriminated against if you want to but at the end of the day you have a place to change, you're still allowed to workout at that place and the only thing the business is guilty of is making sure their changing rooms are safe by keeping dicks with dicks and slants with slants.

Not to mention that if they are pre-op transgendered... they likely aren't attracted to you regardless. Unless they are obnoxious and flailing the shit around, who cares.

More importantly, what about gays in locker rooms? That is a more pressing issue than dickgirls imo.

No, the discomfort I hypothesized about was about different genitalia, not different people. Genitalia conventionally comes in two descriptions (there are variations, obviously, but the general idea is overriding) while people come in such a wide variety of descriptions that it would be impossible to classify them into two groups....except male and female work as two different groups. The blurring line, as mentioned above, is where does male end and female start (and vice versa).
