To utilize the new easier-to-use payment options, simply log into the Square Enix Account Management System and select the FINAL FANTASY XIV Service Account to get started.

And I was hoping they would get ride of crysta...

Why can't I just input my credit card, and get billed once every months like in every other mmo? I don't want to go through the hassle of buying crysta every months, and I'm not gonna pay them more than a month ahead.

From what I gather, that's what they did. They added the crysta method, and the direct payment to SE with recurring options. You'll also be able to buy crysta directly from SE. I think the post was just a little bit confusing, but if you look on the payment options they have direct payments now.

I'm not going to complain if they did. They made it sound like you had to go manually buy more crysta.

Nah thats how they had it setup before, if you chose not to use click and buy. Also I think they will keep crysta for use in their social games and stuff.

Holy hell they did it, I put in my non vbv card and it took it (its still going through a 3rd party but nothing like before no insane terms and conditions)

oh by the way if you get a weird error when you try to put your card in check your no script, my was blocking the 3rd party site

Edit: shows up as Square Enix on the credit card too. I saw a pending .01 charge on my credit card

all I can say is woooo!

Same here. Yay!

Seriously, I didn't understand the purpose of using crysta. If we were able to use it for more than just the monthly subscription, like for in-game vanity items or something maybe.

Does this also apply to FFXI? I would assume so, but one cannot assume with SE.

Yes it does! I got the info from the FFXI rss feed (I don't really pay attention to anything FFXIV) Just noticed that it was posted here.

Just updated my payment option... Works like any other MMO. For those confused: Click on Update Payment Method on the right and go through the motions - once thats done go to List Options Continued Automatically and it'll show FFXIV and it's payment method. Click on the payment method to update it then select credit card. It will now syphon 9.99 from your bank at the end of every 30 days.

So happy they did that.

What I want to know is if this solves the payment issues for people who want to pay, but can't with their existing methods.

Allowing for laziness and having the money auto-siphoned is nice and all, but you could already directly pay for Crysta using your CC/Debit, so it's not like this is a huge leap. Fixing the issue for people who can't pay, however, is huge.

Awesome. I'm glad they listened to the playerbase. However, they just eliminated one of the main reasons I quit at the beginning of fall. Hmm...

Yeah I probably won't go back, since D3 is probably going to consume every spare minute when it finally drops. But I won't lie, I'm curious what level 99 is like, heh. My last day playing was the day the cap was raised to 95, got RNG there and logged out for the last time. >.>;;

Has anyone gotten their debit card to attach? Every time I try to use a debit or credit card for monthly billing I get a 601 or 901 error. All the info is correct so I don't know wtf is going on. I tried on 2 separate days, too.

My debit card was accepted with no problems.
