Red Bull ad offends christians!

I think its clear what I think about religion, but... even I have to admit that this ad is a bit extreme. All this kind of thing does is give the born-again christians ammo for their claim that the whole world is devil worshipping atheists that hate and want to destroy them.

That ad doesn't offend "christians".
It offends some people, who happen to be christians.
It could offend non-christians as well for all we know.

If Red Bull wanted to be exetreme....should have been Mohammad. But of course, they pussed out. Attacking or offending Christianity won't get you killed.

Every time I hear this I giggle a bit inside because I know many of the people who utter it long to be just like the Muslims and kill people for making light of their deity. What's stopping them? Someone blasphemes your God? Run a sword through them.

It isn't the admakers fault the Christians of the 21st century have grown soft is it?

Muslims consider Jesus to be one of the most important messengers of God, so this ad actually offends them too. It says as much in the article as well.

It seems obvious to me that using any kind of sacred religious imagery for the purpose of selling products is probably going to offend some people, somewhere. Why any company would lack the common sense to understand that is kind of baffling. Funny or not, harmless or not, if your ads piss people off, you may lose more business than you gain through the ad. People get ten kinds of wild over religion, come on Red Bull. Duh.

Or maybe no one will give a shit. They got headlines and free advertisement. The number of people who are both current Red Bull consumers and actually offended enough by the ad to stop purchasing Red Bull (which is different from simply being offended, as energy drinks are generally habitual/ritualistic products) is almost certainly worth less than the increase in brand awareness caused by this event.

Increase in brand awareness where? Are they not at the front of the energy drink game pretty much everywhere?
