Actually no. Cats can be trained the same way dogs are trained properly. Dogs require no effort to be trained badly. Having owned 4 cats and several dogs. The only things dogs are excellent and unmatched at are the things they have been bred for specifically. Herding, guarding et al.

My cat is at the door when I get back home from work. Chases and follows me around the house, fights to get my attention unless I am firm and let her know I am not interested. I call her and she comes. I throw a stick and she fetches. Same damn thing as every dog I've ever owned.

I love dogs and cats, but cats win in a busy household because they will poop in the right place and don't need to be taken for walks.


Actually snakes are the best: you only feed them once a week/2 weeks, they poop only once a week/2 weeks, and you never have to take them for walks. Sadly they're not too cuddly, but they make for great conversation pieces!
