Well, I was slightly surprised no one posted anything so far.

Police called to 'frenzied machete attack' in Woolwich, south-east London, in which one man, reported to be a soldier, died

Incident now being treated by the government as a suspected terrorist attack, says the BBC's Nick Robinson

Reports suggest a man was attacked in the street by two individuals who were later shot by officers

Video footage emerges showing a man wielding a bloodied meat cleaver and making political statements

Home Secretary Theresa May chaired a meeting of Cobra, the government's emergency response committee, describing the attack as "sickening and barbaric

So, I can only assume the reason no one cares on here is that they treated this incident as a "local crime". Afterall, no guns/explosives were used so ...

In fact, I also treated it the same and thought it was just some "big news" of the day but apparently not. I'm quite confused now; I arrived home (4-5 hours after hearing it) expecting normal news but nope, BBC24 are running full/live coverage over it as it upgraded to a suspected terrorist attack.

They say he was shouting "alluh akbar" while attacking him, suppose that automatically makes it a terrorist attack? The video clip shows a south London black guy with blood on his hands talking about people in his own country see this kind of violence all the time...from what I've been told the guy who was in the clip was born in the UK...

Yeh I was also a bit confused how people arrived at that.

Although, I just heard (it wasn't mentioned on BBC site) the man who died had his dead cleaved off. So ... regardless, I'm just more surprised what was just a crazy man doing something escalated quickly into:

- Security need to be beefed up at army barracks
- Attack was muslim who killed a soldier
- The reps of UK muslims condemning attack
- "suspected" terror attack probably because of:

He adds: "I apologise that women have had to witness this today, but in our land our women have to see the same.
"You people will never be safe. Remove your government, they don't care about you."

- People crawling out of my facebook moaning about the government letting foreigners in, and how islam is not a peaceful religion, yadayadayada

EDIT2: Yeh, still confused. Maybe I'm just tired and people are overreacting. Sure this is bad and all, but I didn't anticipate this sort of aftermath.

I think people are making a huge ass big deal out of it is because a soldier was killed by someone who was foreign born.
I know it's lolfacebook status but still:

An english man killed his own children, a Welsh man killed a young girl who's bones were found in his bath tub and the biggest uproar is about a foreigner killing a soldier... Seems to me that the media is trying to make Britain a nation of racist by emphasising that the murder is foreign!
