    Accumulating Bayld

The process of getting an Ergon weapon is a long one, particularly because it requires so much Bayld. Being able to grind out a lot of bayld quickly is good, but gradually building it up as you play can be equally as important.

So I was wondering, what are some quick things you do every day to help build up bayld? And, what are some good options for spending a few hours to grind out a large amount of bayld?

I'm not looking for the fastest/"best" way to complete an ergon, but I'm wondering how other people are attempting the challenge to help me find method(s) that work for myself.

    Thanks!

I might be wrong here, but I'm afraid bayld is not the main source, rather the icing on the cake?
Maybe it's different once you have 3 accounts and can bot reives when you're at work. Same thing multiplied x 3 might start to become an interesting value? I dunno, but solo I'm afraid you can't really rely on bayld farming to accrue the necessary things for Ergon Weapons.

Hey you don't have to farm the whole thing like me Sech!!!

Anyways personally since I had a lot of same account mules with soa access I just keep up on their tags running Kahmir for couriers. 10k in a minute or so that anyone/anything can do. Plus I get to level them in case I ever get the gumption to do multiple salvage runs a day or some such thing.

Then there is reiving... not particularly fast. If you are staying on one of the good lair reives in Kahmir we are talking like 15-20k ish balyd per hour and about .8-1 HPB per hour per character. But it's fairly common up there and if there is more than 2 people on one things get bad so often other people there will try to mpk you and if that doesn't work just bring so many people that it becomes highly unproductive to stay (literally had one guy try to mpk me than within 2 minutes of that had 3 other characters there with him to kill 1 lair was getting a total of like 400 balyd per reive kill). Another option is going to Inner court. A bit more dangerous since you can't stay out of range and umbrils are gross and takes a little longer to get to but better balyd per hour and it's fairly open but would only really do it on jobs that can spam aoes. Of course you could cycle thru reives for even more if you are bored but I'd rather do skirmish if I wanted to actually work for it. Either way you get a decent amount of xp/jp in the process. Usually after running it at night and at work I have enough to cap xp. Also tons of sparks to make money off of (and accolades for what it's worth) skirmish parts to sell or use later...

Which brings me to my last way doing skirmish runs. With a bunch of parts which wont sell (market is fairly glutted so wise to keep some) you can do tons of skirmish. Best part only need 1 character to really do anything the rest if you have any just need to use flies when they get balyd. Doing just 1/1/1 Yorcia I'd average 120k an hour per character but honestly that was getting too slow for my tastes (I know it sounds good but I'm 100% farming and would be getting about 1/4 of that afk on reives). As such I've actually been npcing my lower tier legs and only using 2-3 in Yorcia. Haven't really tracked the balyd/hr doing that but it should be decently higher since not only will each run be higher but with more noetics up there will be a better chance of one being closer. If you have some 4-5 legs that wont sell or they drop even more in price (4s are about 50k now I think so only worth it if you have more than 1 character and 5 pretty much need full group) you can start farming Ra'Kaznar fairly well though I wouldn't do it lower just because it could lead to long aggro filled runs. With only 6 places a noetic can appear on 1 head the odds of it being only a 30 second walk away is rather high and if it's not there if using a 4 or 5 it will be in the area past the umbrils which still doesn't take that long to get to. What makes Ra'Kaznar good is not only the closeness but you get more per noetic forget what the numbers on Yorcia were but a 4 on Ra'Kaznar is 10.5k and 5 is 12.5k so can basically make it as fast as you would doing assignments but for hours on end with every character in the pt getting it too just for 1-2 doing the work so if you have more accounts/friends it can be rather quick.

If you are still on Bahamut we could probably team up some time. Take turns being the actual runner or something. Though I'm almost done with Epeo I could use an Idris or 3

Tbf I'm not even trying. I have like what, 70 H.P. Bayld lol?! (and around 5 mils Bayld, which is whooo hooo 500 H.P. Bayld, I'm almost done hey!)
For me Epeolatry and Idris are one of those things I look to from far away, with starry eyes, dreaming about them and hoping Santa will bring me one for next Xmas xD

I bought a bit over half of mine. Any time there's a WKR campaign going follow the group and shout to buy them at the end of it. Lots of people will be willing to sell to you at a fair price and some will even go under the server low (and that was never by my request). The rest were from yorcia skirmish spam and kahmir drift courriers.

Honestly, the best I could manage off of Reives was about 25 HP-Bayld an hour (direct drops and bayld exchange) bouncing between Lair and Colo's but I usually average out to about 18. Skirmish seems to be the quickest if you have multiple accounts depending on the availability of parts but you can easily farm them while doing some reives. But as it stands, for someone who hasn't worked on ranking up in coalitions it takes 8(?) months to get the legendary requirement which breaks down to a little less than 60 HP-Bayld a day in that time frame.

Wait 25 HP an hour!?! So effectively 250k balyd an hour (obviously some are direct but still damn)? That's still pretty good even with multiple accounts most reives support more than 1 person.

It was a very lucky run that day. I had an unusually high drop rate from the reives and at one stretch I got HPB 5 times in a row from the Colo reives. My bayld average is pretty consistent at about 60k/hr and my direct drops usually hover around 10-12.

Still not too shabby. Definitely beats skirmishing character per character though a tad more work

Which area are you doing reives in? When I was building, I'd get very similar Bayld numbers out of Foret doing a 15 reive loop, but HPBs were less than uncommon. I think at best I got maybe 5-7 in an hour, while many times I only got 1-2 in the hour.

There's a nice little circuit of Colonization Reive and Lair Reive I do in Morimar Basalt Fields on my GEO. I usually end up with 30-35k Bayld and at least 1-2 HP Bayld as direct drops (most I've had was 5). With Indi-Malaise and Geo-Acumen (you could vice versa, but costs more MP) it's really easy to Stonera the mobs & crags away pretty quickly.

I also do the Colonization Reives in Marjami Ravine for Bayld & HP Bayld. But sadly, anywhere else on Shiva there are Colonization/Lair Reive bots EVERYWHERE. BLMs in full Sparks mage gear, usually 4 of them, all with the same NPCs summoned and all camped out at each of the Lair Reive locations in Kamihr Drifts, Marjami Ravine, and in Outer Ra'Kaznar.

No big deal though, my LS and I have our Bayld farming covered, easily.

This was in Foret as well. I've only done about 6-7 runs out there total and I haven't seen what other areas can do, but Foret has 14 colo reives which in for me was slightly more generous with HP Bayld than lairs. 60k I believe is around the max bayld you can get an hour doing all 14 Colo reives and bouncing between lairs. When I did it, I was on DNC using OAT WKR dagger and the OAT Bayld Dagger.

id imagine the fastest way involves getting all your mules to SoA and ranking up couriers so that you can spam Kamihr. That shit is about the only thing i do if im not in my FFXI playing phase and i even get to level jobs at the same time.

All in all the only ones getting fast h-p are the ones with multiple acounts, so the lonely solo player gets crap ; ; unless he gets help from his ls and friends.

Would you say the ones with 2 accounts get 2x as much, and 3 accounts get 3x as much?

Probably not THAT much, but they sure do get a lot more, it's pretty obvious.
But then again what use is whining or pointing fingers? It's always been like that for anything.
Farming Bayld on multiple accounts is probably easier/faster and more efficient than, say, farming multiple dynamis/salvage runs though, since for the Bayld thing you can do everything on multiple accounts at the same time, whereas for Dynamis/Salvage you need successive runs, and that can be pretty time-intensive.

If someone wants to fund an Ergon Weapon for your favourite italian mono-account Galka feel free to, I'll apreciate ^____________^

If you leave 1char + trusts on a LR 24/7 (marjami/yorcia/kamhir), you should get 100 HPBaylds per RL day.

I've only seen a drop off with 3+ chars on a LR reive.

Do the math, make alt accounts.

Even with an alt account with 16 characters, you're only going to obtain half the HPBayld needed in an 9 month period.
If you did courier assignments at two tags a day on one character starting from scratch, it takes 30 days to open up Kamihr Drifts support. During that 30 day period as you rank up that character would gain 288k Bayld. Multiply that by 16 characters and that is 4,608,000 bayld or 460 HPBayld in the first month. Once Kamihr opens up, 2 tags/day across 16 characters, you're looking at 691 HPBayld a month. You would need at least two alts filled with mules doing daily coalition runs to finish in less than a year.

If you have 16 accounts, each getting 100 HPBayld/day, thats 1600HPBayld/day.

How exactly are you getting 100 per day camping on a lair? I average only about 2.5-3 total per hour (counting direct + balyd) on kahmir reives and even then that is only 2 of them since the others have noticeably lower hp and end up giving half as much or less. And marjami yorcia seem a little lower though I didn't test each one to see if some are better/worse than others. Haven't tried inner court because it's a pain to get around in there but I'd imagine it's a little better and outer definitely is. But combine that with the bots already out there and you're going to be running out of good reives if you are camping with 16 accounts just yourself.

Plus why would you keep them there 24/7? You'd be giving up a good 1.5mil or so a day in just sparks, a decent chunk in npcables/skirmish parts (amounts highly dependent on server and which one you are doing), and even a couple hundred grand in accolades. All of which more than makes up the few minutes it takes to go into town and dump that stuff
