NHL Center, UK, VPN etc etc...

A friend of mine moved over to the UK from the US and is looking for a way to bypass the NHL center blackouts that occur. (from what i can tell, certain games are sold to other stations outside the US and NHL can't show the game for 48 hours, although it still remains to be selected.)

Is there a way, other than a third party VPN or otherwise to fool the servers into believing his device is eligible to watch any game?

There is a service that most people who want to do this pay for. http://www.unblock-us.com/ is what most people I know use.

Luckily for me, I follow the Sabres and live in NYC, so I don't have that issue.

Oh, that also works with the PS3 app/X-Box app/etc.

You could technically just proxy through to some free thing, but it's slow as balls and unreliable.
