D-Link DIR-825 router boots me from XI

I had this problem at my aunts house, same router, so I'm pretty sure this is the culprit, but I couldnt figure out how to fix it, so I just went home and got my router and hooked it up and everything worked fine. Now I'm at my dads house in Montreal for the weekend, and he has this same shitty router, and I'm having the same problem. Except this time I cant really go home to Calgary, get my router, and plug it in.

It keeps booting me from XI, and I cant figure out why. I've ran a ping in the background to google, and I recieved no timeouts when I got cut off, so it doesnt seem to be a connection issue there. I'm running a ping to 202.67.56.1, which seems to be the IP of an XI server (from a post in 2008, so it may have changed), and I'm not getting any timeouts there either. Usually when its my connection, I can run a ping in the background and notice when the connection spikes. Its not my laptop, since I can tether through my phones wifi hotspot and the connection is stable. Error message is FFXI-4002, Timeout reported by the FFXI server, press OK to shut down.

I've attempted to disable DNS relay, as well as port forwarding, neither have solved the problem. Does anyone have any insight onto what the hell is going wrong here?

I'm trying to watch the bruins/canes hockey game online, and its REALLY stuttery. I suspect its the router again, because even if my laptop isnt the best, I've never had this problem before. I have a feeling its one of this routers "dual band" features fucking up, since its supposed to "analyze the incoming data and prioritize certain things".
