External sound card; worth my money?

I have a small home studio that I use to record guitar and bass. The sound is quite decent, but my problem is the level. It's alot lower than what it should, and when I record and hit play, it's not as loud as it should. I checked every settings I possibly could for the onboard audio, nothing I can do to raise the volumes anymore.

I was thinking my issue is probably the onboard audio, and that maybe I should consider a sound card. My problem is that the pedalboard for my instrument uses USB connection for the input, and I haven't seen a single sound card with USB input.

This is the back of what I use

Are there any sound cards out there with USB input? Would they fix my problem of volume being too low?

There aren't, far as I know. Usually a USB audio device is just its own device, as is the case with your pedalboard. You can get the driver for it here, and then grab a USB A to B cable to hook it up to the computer directly.

Regarding the levels, I dunno, I've never used one. The manual indicates that there's a USB record level (and a USB mix level) you can adjust, so I assume that's what you'd mess with.
