    Paypal issues!! a

ok here's my issue: I am a 17 year old and I use eBay and Paypal, even though you technically have to be "18" to use this service. And actually I have been using it for a while now and out of nowhere I log on my paypal and BAM! my account is frozen and with the limited "status". I have never scammed anyone (irl minus the astral ring post i made a while ago LOL) and I had about 900 bucks accumalted over some time. I can't do shit now and it's like locked WTF!! They have like these processes that you have to go through to un-limited access your account, and I have/will complete 3 of 4 of these steps but one of the steps is to send in my driver's licesne/passport or something of the sort! they will then find out i am under 18 and does anyone know what will happen from that point?

any feedback about paypal or about their customer service or what you would do in my situation would be appreciated! thanks~

I use Paypal a couple times a month, and one day the same thing happened to me as well, although I'm over 18 and didn't have any problems. I think it may be random for people that do a lot of transactions... tax purposes, etc.

They still can't just "take" your money, maybe call up the customer service line and ask if you can add your father or mother to the account or something, so you have access to it. That's what I would try if I were in your situation.

Actually had this happen to me a longtime ago. Paypal is retarded and will randomly do this shit to be people w/o any reason. They can "take" your money, but only for a period of time. If you can't provide all the confirmation documents that they request then they will hold your money BUT only for 120 or 180 days I cant remember which you will have to ask them that. It's part of one of the agreements you "agree" to when setting up your account.

My suggestion, find out the amount of time before they have to release it, then wait better then waiting till your 18 and if you provide proof your under 18 your screwed.

Paypal is the biggest piece of shit ever that they'll almost always try and force you to use when buying crap off eBay. If you have a problem while using Paypal, you're pretty much fucked and they have you over a barrel because you agreed to be placed in that position when you made the account.

Yeah, completely agree with the above two posts, and if for some reason you need to use it for convenience or lack of good alternatives, always move the money out of the account since, as you see, Paypal can basically do whatever it wants to your account and there's not much you can do about it. In fact, if you receive money through Paypal, it's so ridiculously easy for people to chargeback Paypal transactions, and there is such a ridiculous burden of proof to stop it that it's an even worse idea to hold money in an account for any period of time.
