    Lost my wallet need help...

Ok I feel like a freaking dumbass... I flew home yesterday... Everything was going great... Arrived fine walked down to the baggage claim and well... I noticed my back pocket was "lighter" if you will so I checked and my wallet was gone... Now I was stupid and told many times "Don't keep your Social and Draft card in there" well I was going to stop as soon as I got home because it seemed foolish to put it in my checked baggage... I thought "Just about the same chance it would get stolen in there" well... I got security to anally check the plane... Nothing... I filed a lost and found claim and so far no word... I need some suggestions because this is bothering me to the point where I can't sleep... I've already accomplishes I'm a dumbass for carrying shit like that in my wallet... So I need to call the social security place at 7am and explain... I was also told to call the 3 major credit card companies and tell them the same thing and to watch for my number to come up on their radar or w/e... If anyone can provide the names of the 3 companies and maybe their numbers it would be greatly appreciated... As well as any other suggestions... Thanks BG and BG forum members !

Sounds like you got your pocket picked. I wear big shirts that cover my ass or keep it in my front pocket while I travel, but people usually don't think to look for money and stuff in a woman's back pocket so it's probably unnecessary for me.

Anyway, report to Equifax and Experian as well, they can watch for people trying to get credit at places other than the major credit card companies. If you had any bank cards or checks tell your bank about it as well, they may be able to lock down ATMs and monitor other access to your account to catch the guy. Chances are though, they've already spent a bunch and threw away everything to minimize their risk of getting caught.

Just cancel your cards. That's not a biggie. The biggest thing I would be worried about is someone using your SS#. Then you could be royally fucked.

cancel your credit cards and get new ones.

call the social security and they'll give you a new card, unfortunately, it is very hard to get a new number.

    be more careful next time.

qft, never understood why people keep their wallet in their back pockets. not only does it look funny, it feels weird when you sit down, and if you wear it long enough it wears an outline of the wallet into your back pocket.

Also the major reason is that its alot easier to notice something missing out of your front pocket than out of your back pocket obviously. I try not to actually carry my wallet on me unless absolutely necessary, and even then I usually take considerable means to make sure I check for it every once in awhile.
