ME AND SHIZ DECIDED TO GO TO COLLEGE TOGETHER
bad part is
he's going for Computer Engineering
and I'm going for English with a minor in Secondary Teaching

WE CANT FIND A SCHOOL THAT DOES BOTH
someone find us a good school that does both in the US from around Ohio -> Maine or something OK GO

It's exactly what I did. I could spend ten hours telling you how messed up the education system is and how few programs prepare teachers for it/ Plus added to that everyone with an education major ends up trying to go into teaching since there's little else to do with the degree (loleditor), which means tons and tons of competition for hs teachers.

If ya wanna teach I'd suggest something like math (lol I ahte math and which I ahd done that instead), it's a lot less paperwork involved (correcting tests/etc.) and math teachers are always in severe demand. XD

If ya wanna teach I'd suggest something like math (lol I ahte math and which I ahd done that instead), it's a lot less paperwork involved (correcting tests/etc.) and math teachers are always in severe demand. XD

and yeah I know it's kind of a hotly contested area but it's one of my whimsical childhood dreams and I'll kick myself in the face if I give up on this one too

XD ya minor is different than a major, but for secondary education you have to have an undergrad degree in your teaching field to begin with (aka you can't really major in secondary education until you have a BA unless your college offers a program that's basically a double major (which btw can be severe overkill and may make you start dressing in drag and dancing with a jar of pickles in the street)). My warning was only that English is one of those very fun but rather useless majors and really only offers you being an editor or a teacher. Hence why the country is overpopulated with English BA's trying to be teachers.

The math part I mentioned is I learned (which I should have told my brain ages ago) correcting poorly written english papers day in and day out takes about 5 hours of your evening, and makes it so from september till june you have absolutely no time to yourself. Math at least is along the lines of "it's either right or wrong end of story." And correcting goes a lot faster and is a lot easier on your brain. :/

But I'm just jaded I guess XD

I understand your position fully, but correcting people is honestly what I live for. A sparkle appears in my eye each time I make your you're and each time I cross out a two and put too above it. Each and every punctuation mark I add I go wild. Each spelling mistake I correct I swear to god I jump for joy.
