About Metroid Prime Hunter

Ok, I'm desperate to get some answers about this game. I just got it (used) along with a ds for my brother's christmas present. I started playing around with it because I wanted to make sure the game works (it being used and all) but what I'd like to do now is play the freaking adventure mode. Do I need to beat the 3 missions on training mode before adventure mode opens up?

I even looked at the manual and the title screen looks different from what I see on my ds. The manual shows a green menu window with the title "Metroid Prime Hunters" while what I am seeing is a red menu with the title "Metroid Prime Hunters [First Strike]".

What's bothering me the most is that even the options screens from the manual's pics are different but I doubt it's a different game since no other metroid games are out for ds that I know of >.>;

Just need simple answers please. I really just want to know what is needed to be done to get to adventure mode. I guess I'm just paranoid that something might be wrong with the game (I'll never buy used games again!). This type of shooter game is not my type of game but I know my brother likes it so I don't really want to bother playing it if at all possible.

It happens, not with me, especially around the holidays when customers trade in used products to untrained employees. If your not quick, you can get owned. Just last sunday I had a game "attempt" to get traded in under a regular box but the game was from another region. I think the best are the ones who bring in the PS2 games with demos for placeholders.
