    Warrior: Eating meat how/when?

Hello, this is not to start a meat vs. sushi thread but rather a how/why/when thread. I recently got warrior to 75 and have capped axe merits and wanted to start using meat for merit pts. So far I have not been able to see the benefits, while eating sushi I uses man/joy (8axe4sword merits) and parsed about 94% acc on average, ws averaged high 700's low 800's overall. I was also outparsing most other ppl in my pts by quite a big margin.

Now eating meat in mostly mamool areas seems to be pointless, my acc is horrible and I am no longer parsing nowhere near what I was even switching to axe/axe. I havent tried it in the mire which im sure would be fine but I usually xp in thickets/isle entrance. My question is how to make meat work for the damage boost it can provide plus keeping decent accuracy. My gear isnt amazing but is good. I will list my tp/ws build below for meat and sushi any suggestions on what to do to make it more effective are welcome, or advice from warriors who use meat and know first hand what I may be doing wrong.

(Please no meat vs. sushi derailment I am in the mindset meat is better ive seen it better on other ppl just want to know what im doing wrong, Thank You~)

    Sushi:
    TP ~ Ws

    Main:Maneater/ same
    Off:Joyuese/ same
    Ammo:Bomb Core/ same
    Head:Walahara Turban/ Optical Hat
    NeckCC/ same
    Ear:Brutal/ same
    Ear:Supp./ Fowling earring
    Body:Hauby+1/ same
    Hands:Dusk Gloves/ Pallas Brc.
    ring:Raja's/ same
    ring:Woodsman/ Triumph ring
    back:Foragers/ same
    waist:Swift Belt/ Potent Belt
    legs:Byakko's Haidate/ Excorcist Hose
    feet:Dusk/ Heca. Feet

    Meat:
    TP~WS(Same as above)

    Main:Maneater/Woods/
    Off:Joyuese/Man
    Ammo:Bomb Core
    Head:Walahara Turban/Ohat
    NeckCC
    Ear:Brutal
    Ear:Supp.
    Body:Hauby+1
    Hands:Dusk Gloves
    ring:Woodsman
    ring:Woodsman
    back:Foragers
    waistotent Belt
    legs:Byakko's Haidate
    feet:Dusk

with using ohat on meat thats +62 acc w/o +52 I dont understand 8(

other merits pertaining to warrior are 4crit hit+, 2Str, 3Da, 1Ber/1Agg (going to do 4/3/3)

In Mamool North, the mobs are just too evasive to get a consistent ACC, and your DoT ends up going down because of this. Lurkers will destroy your parser results. I've found through a lot of trial and error that eating Sushi just gives the most dependable and the best results overall.

Any other camp in the game you can eat Meat at relatively ease.

I don't think I would be the only one to tell you to WS in Byakko's for rampage, throw out the hose :/

+15 DEX is going to increase your rampage crits (+15 is alot in the crit department.. for example I think gernome tested it on his LJ) and it is in fact +/- 7.5~ ACC.

Easy enough to check. Just go /check some mobs with and without haidate and equivalent acc gear.

It's 7.5 ACC, however I've tested it multiple times and AF2 Legs produce higher average WS numbers. In the context of the thread however, if you're having ACC problems on WS than yes, Haidate are probably better, if you can't put ACC in another slot for less of a loss.

    It's basically 7.5 acc vs 5 STR.

I'm sorry but in more situations than not anyone saying they crit signicantly more with Haidate is a victem of a placebo effect. It's been proved time and time again how much DEX influences your critical hit-rate, and +15 DEX won't add more than 1-2%. An additional 1-2% crit-rate on a WS won't make any kind of a noticable difference... We're talking one extra critical hit every ~20 weapon skills on a WS that already criticals naturally on its own most of the time. If anything the difference you're noticing is from extra accuracy.

However, as far as the meat equipment vs sushi equipment debate goes... If you're using sushi then I'd definitely go with AF2 legs, however if you're using meat then you might consider using Haidate over AF2 legs simply because you need the accuracy most importantly. But, this mostly depends on how much acc you'll have for WS beforehand, personally I usually have enough in a meat situation to keep AF2 legs on and still land WS hits fine for a 950-1050 WS average over a PT (not easy to get the avg that high).

As for the OP, assuming I understood your post correctly you're missing a good deal of acc from your WS gear in your meat build. I would recommend keeping more acc on for WS, and if possible getting a sea gorget as it'll help a good deal as well. I'd probably keep haidate on full time either way too.

Ya I would use AF2 legs for ws if I had them but dont atm, im in a pt at greater colibri camp atm keep switching between food everytime bird snatches it from me and sushi by far seems to be winning 8( also highest 2 rampages were with sushi. I'm thinking of getting amir boots for the acc/attack that might help out, and I will try haidate on ws and see how it does. Thanks for the help so far~

Just don't use meat in mamool. It doesn't work. I have a crap ton of ACC if I want too but even if I put it all on I still miss a crap load and also miss hits on my rampages which make it horrible.

    Mire: Meat
    Mamool: Sushi
Sky: Eh, I use Sushi cause even though I can hit these buggers my rampages really suck if I lose that acc.
Anywhere else: Meat usually, sushi if you need that little bit of acc.

Just remember having alot of Atk won't matter if you can't hit the mobs.

Hmm, my biggest problem with meat is the amount of whiffing I do just meleeing, even on colibri my acc was crap, the weird thing is my rampages with meat yielded mostly 16-18tp return, (of course a few more 10 and under then with sushi) but even with 16-18tp return my sushi rampages with the same return were killing them... I think I will have to roll sushi unfortunatly until I can nab a few extra acc. pieces like fire bomblet, amir boots, and at least 1 sniper+1. Thanks for everyones input, I'm going to try and do one mire part on meat tho that should be fun.

You really need Aggressor merits to make meat shine on DoT, with 5/5 Zerk/Agg, Axe merits, and decent TP gear like Peacock Charm and Snipers you can hit Colibri np w/o any food, making cheap food like Mithkabobs doable. The biggest problem you'll have is with Bugards, but thats doable as long as you have a macro to put on some extra ACC.

I used Meat all the way to about 67 then in Caedarva Mire I realised Acc+Meat < Sushi and STR gear for Rampage but better DoT with meat until I was higher with merits. I use meat everywhere except Mamool Ja Staging Point now.

On WAR I end switching between the two often as well, but generally sushi gives the most consistant/reliable results as far as your average PTs go. Typically will only use meat in double BRD PTs where one BRD will single Madrigal and it's more than enough to make up for any acc problems. I'll also use it in places like Mire, or if we're mostly alone in thickets (comp = have to fight lots of mamool/skoffins = lots of dispelga/wiffs). Otherwise it's sushi.

I use meat most everywhere except occasionally north thickets camp. I have 4 axe/8 sword, max Berserk/Aggressor and +47 acc in TP gear. I generally use Hedgehog Pie. In places like sky and mire I have over 90% acc with meat. In harder camps I'm usually able to stay comfortably over 80%.

And Ruk what do you normally WS in on WAR? The only place I can break a 1k average is in the mire... in thickets it's usually in the 800s (barring things like a 2 BRD PT or pulling mostly Puks).
