Hannibal Rising

So I saw this movie this weekend, and holy shit, it is the best one in the series since Silence of the Lambs. Hannibal was ok, and Red Dragon was just lol, and it's a shame because since those movies did not do well, a lot of people are going to miss this one. But if you were a fan of Lambs I would say do not miss this movie.
It completely explains in detail why he became the way he did. Though another story in between this and Lambs would also be good, but I don't think that will be done since there was not a book on that (?). Also it portrays him as not really being a monster, but rather something much more justified, I think that is the best word w/o spoiling anything.
Anyone else see this?

I haven't seen this one, but I don't plan on it either. Anyone other than anthony hopkins as lecter = fail.

I mean, i will probably see it just because (but not in the theater), but i'm not expecting to get blown away.

I haven't yet, but I'd really love to. I've seen all three movies. Lambs was great.. I actually enjoyed Hannibal and yeah, Red Dragon was full of lulz. Don't even think I finished it all. -.- I'll make sure to see this soon.

I actually liked Hannibal too, but I know a lot of people didn't.
And don't let someone other than Hopkins sway you from seeing this. I agree that it was weird at first, but this guy was fucking great. He realized the gravity of this role, and took it on head on.

Hannibal (2001) > Silence of the Lambs (1991) > Red Dragon (2002) & Hannibal Rising (2007).

I will say this about the movie, it stretched the storyline. I was expecting to be more in this Hannibal's mind and how he ticks.

Set any reservations you have about seeing this movie aside and just go see this movie. It's fucking amazing. The actor did a GREAT job as did the rest of the cast.

I still have to see Red Dragon.

If none of you guys have seen Manhunter, go rent it.

It doesn't have Hopkins as Hannibal, but it was still good. Red Dragon was the remake of this movie, and Grisom from CSI was a better main character than Edward Norton.

I realize it is an opinion, but I think you are out of your mind.

I see it this way:
Lambs = Rising > Hannibal > Red Dragon

It being in Hannibal's mind, what the heck does that mean? That really would not have presented a real plot, but rather just been like an opinion on his mind, this presents exactly what has happened to him to take him to what he became.
An additional movie I thought could cover where he goes from here to turn the vengeance into just overall craziness.
