music recommendation thread

there was that one time when talk about music thread was about, and i was going to wait and see if it was created so i could ask there, but alas none to be

and since the book thread came by, i just decided to post right now

hoping for this thread to be where people looking for any particular songs or bands/singers can just enter, find a name, and listen/enjoy. i dont mean like 'i like x and y and z', im wanting 'i fucking live for modest mouse hoooooooo' or 'tripod baby is best song everrrr' type of stuff

a wide genre of music would be nice, ranging from rock to instrumental, so it can suit everyones tastes.
since i live in a place where not alot of american/britian/denmark/etc music are heard, im kinda hoping that bgusers can recommend me some good stuff ill get a hang to

to get a grasp of my music taste... modest mouse, m-flo, clazziquai, do as infinity, epik high, muse, lola ray, beastie boys, ATDI/TMV, explosions, etc

this could also be for other guys/gals too maybe, iuno

You might want to try out Sparta, album name Wiretap Scars

A song I want to throw out there is: Brazilian Girls "Corner Store." May not fit everyones taste, but I like it. ;3

Robin Thicke - "Everything I Can't Have" is my favorite song from his album
Justin Timberlake - Finally gave his latest CD a chance, and found out that it's actually pretty good

NOLA, by DOWN (stoner southern-groove blues metal)

Degradation Trip, by Jerry Cantrell (grungy rock/metal, very AiCish, of course)

Live Seeds, by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds (wicked good live album and the perfect introduction to Nick Cave)

Demons and Wizards, by the band of the same name (power metal)
