I'd like to know from somebody who has this piece...do the Shock Spikes proc much? And when they do, does the stun actually kick in?

Depends on the mob. I once tanked Faust in it for half an hour when I forgot everything except it and Hauby +1, and it stunned him exactly once. On EPs, it stuns very often. EMs and up, maybe a third of the time?
The Shockspikes are really weak and completly not the reaon to upgrade it![]()
Yea, I believe Ninja Chnmail+1 has DEX+6 VIT+6 too yea? Along with the Dual Wield Enhancement, i believe the desired stat would be the DEX+6 ^^*)/
No, they don't proc much, and of course only when you get hit. And I've not worn it terribly much but I've yet to see a stun.
Got for Dex, and being able to keep 5 pieces stored when I only want 3 to wear at most.... and yeah white border.
getting this piece this weekend/next conquest tally--- gettin for the dex
the spikes are a nice bonus tho- and to me much better than the blaze spikes that are on af1.
Shock spikes procs a decent amount, like someone said depending what you're fighting, I'd say same rate as Blaze spikes did on AF1, but the stun rarely kicks in.
It's +5 dex & +2 vit over the normal version.
Shock spikes kick in a decent amount of the time. As with the normal chainmail (this could be a plecebo effect) that if the spikes effect kicks in you don't get interrupted casting.
I was considering it because I like the AF1 body's lack of eva- and faster swinging and the DEX+5 would be a nice addition. I'd also be able to leave the rest of the AF1 set in storage for meriting probably too, and inventory +4 is always welcome with me. A free stun pretty often when I get hit would have been nice, but everybody's saying not to count on that happen with any frequency.![]()
I've got both Limbus items, I'm just torn between the body and feet upgrades. More +25% movement time would be very nice, but I could probably leave the AF1 set in storage for meriting if I got the body upgrade. I TP in Dusk Gloves and WS in O.kote, so the hands aren't that appealing. Legs and head aren't very attractive either.
Thanks guys!
Feet are the way to go with your first upgrade. Get those then do the body.
Body ( dual wield+ and dex) along with suppa and Unsho Unshi af2 pants or B.haidate fuma sune ate dusk hands walahra speed or swift belt. And you ll do the woodpecker dance.
You ll be a minister of death.Nonstop hitting.
Why would you take feet, only for the speed of movement.
I did it and i am mad about myself for being such a noob and not doing body first.
Now i have to wait forever and a day to get the items again ><.
Reasons to upgrade the body:
+5 Dex, +2 vit, Shockspikes (instead of flame), and to separate it from the rest of your AF.
Reasons to upgrade feet:
2 agi, 6 int, extra 2 game hours of turbo-kite, separate it from the rest of your AF.
Reasons to upgrade hands:
3 Dex, 6 str, 20 racc, separate it from the rest of your AF.
Of those, the one that you'll get the most boost out of is probably the feet. If you're honest with yourself you are probably carrying around the normal feet to macro in for +movement anyway.
After that it's a toss-up between the af+1 hands and the af+1 body. In some cases the af+1 hands are a good choice for weaponskills, and if you're doing sky a lot (or ballista) they're godly for landing ranged attacks. There will be very little difference between DDing in ninja chainmail and ninja chainmail+1, mostly whatever 5 dex gets you interms of acc and crit hit rates.
Therefore, most ninjas go feet -> hands -> body. Some skip the hands if they don't do ballista or sky and think that thier other weaponskill gloves are sufficient. The body upgrade is usually done mostly to get inventory space back.
Feet all the way, almost all of the time people spend in game is running around somewhere. Body is a decent upgrade depending on what your fighting, Hands are uglier Okotes (but if your going for a DEX build like I am feel free)
Feet are definitely the best piece there, more time to run fast is invaluable.
Feet first, not for the merit parties. But for the sheer convience of it.
I did Hands next, I actually have a nice Sange equip swap and it's a decent :Jin piece.
I did body for the white border.![]()
Just out of curiosity and slightly off topic, which is better for WSing in O-Kotes or AF+1 Hands? My fiance is waiting for the Tem. piece, but she doesn't know if she should get these or do body.
Hands +1 -> Feet +1 -> Body +1 -> Town gear if you want 5/5+1

If your attack is high, AF+1 is better. If your attack is low, attack kote win.
I'm still leveling up NIN but I've been trying to figure out the order I'm going to go with, and pick up any free lot ninja cells. But I'm torn between either body > feet > hands or feet > body > hands. I want the feet for obvious reasons, but I think the reality of them is that they would be more of a luxury since if I really just want to move around faster all the time I could switch to THF and put on Striders. ;^^ The body seems like a key component of any NIN DEX build, which I really want to try out so that piece is important to me. I don't do Ballista and O.Kote is often better than the hands+1 anyway, so those are the last piece I want.
