Gravity Accuracy on Seiryu

There's someone on the KI monk forum who claims to have RDM 75 who claims to be able to gravity Seiryu (the big one, not the minigod) 70-80% of the time with 341 Enfeebling skill. He claims this makes Seiryu "easily gravity kiteable".

From my experience, Shijin are extremely resistant to enfeebling spells, especially ones that they are not elementally weak to. Seiryu, being wind-based, should therefore be extremely resistant to gravity.

Can any red mages comment on just how resistant Seiryu is to gravity (or other enfeebles)?

Definitely resistant to Gravity; it has stuck a couple times for me but Bind has always been the more "reliable"* method on him.

This has been my experience with Grav on Seiryu too. And I've never gone to Gods on anything other than RDM. And back when all I did was whore out Enf.+ gear resist rates on all Enfeebles on Gods were pretty iffy at best.

So yeah, you can land it, just not reliably. That MNK is full of shit.

I thought the KI mnk section would have exploded in a big meat cloud by now. The War one doesn't seem half as appealing as it once did. :\

I have all but the Altruistic Cape (344, giving me the effective enfeebling skill of a 88 Red Mage, not to mention 3 wind accuracy merits), yet somehow I am resisted to hell and back on Gravity, Silence, and Bind. But instead of this guy being full of crap, I guess 341 is really the sweet spot and I can dump my enfeebling earring. Praise KI!!!

Regardless, I have everything minus the Cape, earring and Bracelets as above poster mentioned, and where I cannot stack Skill I stack INT for Gravity... (+5 Wind acc)

And yea, rofl I've stuck it only a THOUSAND TIMES on Seiryu guyz. :/

I cannot recally my Grav ever sticking on Seiryu, but I've got a low resist rate on Bind until the recast-resist starts coming into play.

The two methods I use to land Gravity on Seiryu to defend against Hundred Fists are :

1) Elemental seal /BLM
2) Daton:Ichi /NIN

Aurik misworded the prompt. 70-80% success (conservative) applies only to scenario #2, which I kept temporarily secret from KI. Scenario #1 is 100%. I did ask Aurik to filter out those who can't Bind Seiryu at all.

Bind is noticeably easier. I don't need debuffs to land it 90% of the time. Avesta does it slightly better, hitting 95% in his video.

Why /NIN? I'm a backup tank if the main one falls. Both hate and survivability are very good, and it saves the shadowless mages and DDs.

I found it funny you kept Doton as a secret, people aren't stupid good thing I stopped reading KI. When I duod this we spammed Doton on Seiryu, trust me we really spammed it, both me and my friend have over 340 enfeebling skill and wind accuracy merits and we couldn't land gravity at all, it's like trying to Bind Suzaku, 1/10 when you're lucky. So, sorry but I can't believe the 70-80% =/.
We didn't even had to gravity it since Bind would stick almost all the time, but we tried it out and I have to say it's just a waste of mp even if you could stick it a couple times for 10-20 seconds.

Of course Ele seal gravity is ganna have extremely high landing rates. But you are not sticking gravity 70-80% of the time, without counting ele sealed ones.
