Chocobo sick

Im working on raising my first chobo. Downloaded a few guides to decipher. Well I am going on day three of this little chicklet being sick and I have fed it the listed food the two days prior(Tokopekko grass). From what I read its rare to go beyond a day of being sick. Am I doing something wrong?

Is it listed as "very ill"? >_> Those usually take 2 grasses in my experience

No it only has been slightly ill the whole time

I don't think feeding the correct grass is a 100% cure. You can do nothing and it'll be better the next day sometimes, others you feed a grass and it's still sick. It doesn't happen much though, and I've raised a few birds.

Well i think I fucked this one up.... was walking it and feeding it Z carrots....when I think I should have been doing music and Z carrots to prep it for stories. so I guess this is the learn it phase to try again after.

Is it best just to mate chocos to start with the abilities you want and go straight to the training you want?

aka start with gallop and canter and start Str training with my choco from day 4?

Hijacking this thread to ask a question. My blue chocobo str is currently at better than average and wont go up, even if I spam carry package. Is there possibly a cap on it, cause my endurance keep going up?

From what I read you have a max set of points you can give a chocobo. aka you can't get first class in everything, but you should be able to get two stats to first class(8) and 1 other toaverage(4). Day 64 I think your stats become harder to raise over all

I only have 2 stats atm. My chocobo got sick a lot lately, so maybe it just slowed down its str or something.

Does it have a patient personality? I've raised a few physical chocobos so far, and ones that were ill-tempered (STR personality) had STR go up a couple days sooner than END (and vice versa with the "patient" ones).

How does your Chocobo like you?
Affection is extremely important to raising.

When are you feeding the medicine?
You Chocobo mustn't be completely full before feeding the medicie, otherwise it'll have no effect.
I stopped feedign meds to mine, they get along fine enough by healing on their own.


As for stat raising, usually you get two stats to 8 before day 64, the rest is usually accomplished by Chocobo Racing, although you can get 8/5/4/1 before day 64 without Chocbo Racing and only simple Raising.
Don't depend upon stat raises after day 64, they are extremely seldom.
Stat cap is at about 21 levels total (can vary quite a bit, take a look athe racing Super Chocobos, since there are not shown sublevels).

What is listed first during the feeding CS? You might have to feed it separatly. Otherwise don't worry about it too much, some Chocobos are sick very often, others hardly ever get ill.
