Which is the better innate? (And question on build)

Cave Antlion type, meaning it will do that WS-like(critical?) Ambush at the start of fights:
WAR(level 8)

Attack+15% vs STR+15 (former is 23 FP, latter is 17 FP)


I'm thinking of putting Critical Rate+10%(30 FP) and Instant Stoneskin or STR+25 (both 17 FP)... do STR+25s stack? What do people think on either build?

First question is innate vs innate:

STR+25 vs Attack+15%


Second is what to do next... out of 49 FP:

Something like the following:

Critical Rate+10%(30 FP)
And STR+25(17 FP) or Instant Stoneskin(or similar FP costing spell really; 17 FP).

Apart from going for a different innate this is how I would do it:

Attack+15% (0/49 FP)
Insta SS (17/49 FP)
STR+25 (34/49 FP)
HP Max+50 (42/49 FP)

Then, at around 15 remove STR and HP Max and slap on Crit Rate+10% for 47FP used >_>

The STR Bonus is kinda big in the beginning, but not worth it in the long run imo (unless it's innate of course)

Just keep traits that level on all the time, the others you can swap around (assuming you'll put the time in to get the plates!)

One last question: How effective is the Stoneskin before leveling it high? Eyeballing results are fine too!

Depends on mobs and what not, usually it seems like 3 hits or so in an even looking match. Alot more if you are well above your opponent obviously.

Didn't see it answered, but STR +25s cannot stack. You can only have one of each trait on a pet at any given time. :[

i have STR+25 on mine atm,waiting for enough FP to free to switsch to STR bonus(hoping i get enough fp at all ~~)

lvl 22 atm,should i keep doin that or is STR(even a maxed bonus) rather useless and should i go with somethign completely different instead?

for my cave antlion (aggressive and attack + 15%) i am putting on a triple attack bonus and STR +25. if he can triple pit ambush you are gonna come out with beastly numbers.

When leveling Stoneskin don't pull your monster out of a match ever

I've got like level 40-something stoneskin, and it's insane how long it lasts. lol

I'm wondering though whether phalanx is a better investment, so you can at least still get TP from getting hit. And in the mob world, getting hit gives more TP than hitting (since mob TP gained = TP the attacker got + X amount).

My chigoes stoneskin currently absorbs more damage than my chigoe has HP, and my chigoe has a +50 plate on ;p

I've been toying with an Attack Speed Bonus + Ensomething Apkallu build (once I get my Attack Speed Bonus innate Apkallu). Which looks better:

Ensomething (47 FP)
Stoneskin (17 FP)
Total: 64/68 FP

or...

Apkallu (Attack Speed Bonus innate)
Ensomething +25 (30 FP)
Stoneskin (17 FP)
JT: MNK (12 FP)
SJ: WAR (8 FP)
Total: 67/68 FP

Just wondering if the Counter, Martial Arts, HP Boost from JT: MNK, and the extra HP/STR/etc. from SJ: WAR would be worth giving up the levelling bonus from Ensomething and sticking with just the +25 version. Feel free to substitute some other JT and SJ combo, if you think it'd be better.

I'd personally go with the 2nd build.

SJ: WAR seems like a waste... probably better off putting a Killer effect or HP+50.

My knowledge on lowHP/highFP monsters is limited, but I've always noticed they are soft hitters without any attack boosts, like enspell?
