Account Question

For anyone that has had their account stolen, i.e password and billing information changed, did you get your account back? If you did, how did you get it back? I've called SE and what the person on the phone said was completely laughable, and I know that can't be how other people got their account back, if anyone has.

Please spare me the "shouldn't of shared info" bullshit. No one had my info and my password was saved as well.

They should give it back. Call again but have the reg codes and your dob and other info on hand.

Kinda off topic but when you called how long were you on wait for? Because I been calling them for past 2 weeks and they put me on hold for hours.

The other day I had to wait 1 hour each time. Today I've been on hold for nearly 3 hours....

I have all the info to give them. The CD keys for every expansion, DoB, Name, and the pass CC info for the past four years. But none of that matters because I don't have the CC info of the person who stole the account. The dumb bitch that I talked to the first time told me to report it to is3.gov and that if they found the account was stolen they would give me the persons CC info and billing info and to call SE back lol. Thankfully I got scheduled for callback which has not happened yet, but I think there is a light at the end of the tunnel...

My router been broken for past month or so, so I want to call an ask them if I can cancel the 3 accounts I was paying for but they never pick up I can't even remember some of the passwords.

Anyways keep at it. One Se employee says one thing when another says something different. It's like they make their rules up as they go.

Edit: I finally got through and it seems unless the person is supposed to call me back can do anything I'm fucked unless I somehow come up with the billing info for the person that stole the account.

I just don't understand their policy at all. What does it protect? The only possible reason for someone else to have your account that is within the ToS is if you give it to them. Even then, it's still your account, and if you want to be a dick to the person who you gave it to and "steal" it back, so be it. But, wait, what other reasons are there for someone else to have your account? Having it stolen and RMTing it... So, if you buy an account, that's against the ToS (let alone the selling of said account). Meaning you're not playing 'legally' according to the SE code. What they seem to be doing is protecting those people who buy accounts so they don't pay someone hundreds of dollars only to get nothing in return. That seems a bit hypocritical to me. Also, it has the side effect of protecting the people who steal accounts. And stealing accounts is against the ToS...

So, wtf? Why is SE protecting people that do stuff against the ToS and screwing people over who, in the case of theft, aren't doing anything wrong and just happened to be the victim... Doesn't make sense to me.
