I know this LS is a close family and is more for the uber than the meek, but I'm brand new to Bahamut and LS...less(is that a word?)

What's a good LS to join for socializing, events, fun, and occasional mission and quest assistance? Preferably an LS with a good balance between Quantity of members and Quality. A good place to train to be a good player later on when its time to start all the stuff you guys do. I'm not ready for that stuff yet. I just want to XP, and enjoy the mission plots for now. But I respect the capability of the players on this board and know what would be recemended here would not be done lightly.

Ask your friends. If your so new you don't really know anyone on the server yet, just go out and exp, farm, do a few quests and easy missions and see who you meet along the way.
A good way to make friends is to help other people.

Alot of Ls's have certain limitiations as to what they expect thier members to have accomplished already. Tell me more about your characters <and thus your own> acheivements. Placement guidance/direction will prove easier that way. ^^

Well a long bit ago I had a Elvaan PLD on Carbuncle in a pretty established LS called Kalm. I had gtten him to 75. I never got to the whole HNM stuff. But I did help with a lot of larger quests and hunts. I did get sky access. And I was told I was a pretty good PLD. But I left the game shortly after achieving that.

Nakor is my main now and he's mostly a 42 BLM. The knowledge of how to play I still have, but Nakor isn't even Rank 5 yet. And theres a lot of stuff I've forgotten. I feel like a character from .Hack, I'm back at gimp and don't remember anything, but I swear I've done this before. I'm interested right now in XP, Plot, and unlocking the basics with people I know and have fun with. Rank, CoP, Promys. I don't want to dive into that harder stuff just yet. I did learn from sky that it's easy to find an LS but a good one that has cool elder players full of advice and who won't get you killed is a lot harder to find. I don't like charity, I like earning my stuff. I like to look at this staff nd remeber the trouble to get it. But at the same time it'd be nice to ban together and get some people their Sky access. I never got tired of doin those quests. Especially tooling Shadowlord.

Theres a lot I've never done tho. Never done a dynamis, never did the Promies, I just now today got Whitegate access. I've never gotten my rank past 5, and I've never even seen an HNM in person.

I'm moved to bahamut for 3 reasons. 1) Some of the newer servers are having serious population drops cuz people are coming to more established Servers 2) I bought FFXI because I used to watch all the old Order Music videos so Bahamut was familiar. 3) I wanted a fresh start, which has it's plus and minuses.

Well if your looking for a chat ls that does a few things for people send fireman a /tell. Ask him if Chillintreetribe is still together and if so get a pearl. That linkshell had some of the coolest people I ever met on game in it.

Lag is really bad on the server =(. Branwen runs Cake, she is really nice.

Well a lot of the newer servers are having a mass exodus because originally they were the ones suffering the most from the RMTs. But as the population dropped the servers started being difficult to play in. Economy, parties.... it took a week to find an xp party once cuz no one was on Kujata. Teles were 6k cuz you couldnt find anyone in Jeuno. So I left.
