No one believes me on this, but one of my best friends was doing Chuck Norris jokes about 10 years ago.

Yeah I know, random, but my favotire thing they used to do was have very loud conversations in the mall that went as follows "Ok who would win, tiger or a bear? Um tiger because of the speed. Ok, Bruce Lee or Jackie Chan? Bruce, he's got experience on his side. Ok ok, now for a stumper, Chuck Norris, or GOD! (then the other person would get even louders) TRICK QUESTION! Chuck norris IS God!" And everyone would state at them.

From my experience, whichever facts one heard first determines which facts they prefer. I heard Vin facts first (through these forums), so naturally I see Chuck Norris facts are a cheap knockoff and a steaming pile of donkey shit.

That being said, I would imagine Chuck Norris facts have some origination (or at least inspiration) from Conan O'Brien's Walker Texas Ranger emergency lever. Probably someone who read Vin facts, watched Conan O'Brien and thought "Hey, I can do that."
