So, in your case, I'd just suggest simply playing with some photoshop filters (the image itself already looks good) to make it stand out less in comparison to objects on the desktop, and then using it as an actual wallpaper for your own desktop and seeing how it feels. The woman in the middle should be a part of the background and not draw focus to herself, and right now, she seems part of the foreground as if she wants to be the center of attention along with my icons.
Pretend you're looking through a window, and all this is happening behind the glass while you're looking at stuff written on the window itself.
