Purchasing AN Items From Other Nations?

My apologies if this has been answered elsewhere but search turned up no good results.

Is it possible to purchase AN items from other nations so long as you meet the medal requirements? The item I'm looking for, the Cobra Pigaches for my 62 Bard, is on the AH but it all seems like a bit of a waste of Gil if they can be purchased from other nations. I presume if this was possible it would work similar to purchasing CP items from other nations and have similar limits and restrictions.

No you can't. However you can switch nations and lose 2 of your highest awards and keep all your AN.

So far nearly everything is not EX so you can purchase it from the AH, or swap with someone from another nation.

Windurst seems like a good nation to list AN items on the AH. (At least on Sylph) Cobra Coat moves frequently for a decent price. Kind of a shame that I can't get the Bastok items to sell at all.

I read this on otherWiki as well, and considering how much I do campaigns and always thought it would be criminal to pay gil for an Iron Ram Lance considering the easy obtainabilty of AN so... I went and swapped from Windurst to San D'Oria today figuring it would only take me 10 days extra time to rank up to Emblem again (I had just gotten Copper Emblem yesterday).

I was prompted to do the first Sandy quest, Steamed Rams, which I did and was allowed to join. I went to the sigil NPC to browse goodies and buy some I.R. chainmail bits and that's when it hit me, the NPC was still offering me the I.R. Lance. I checked my key items and I'm still the same medal rank I was before joining San D'Oria. OtherWiki says as well that you lose 300AN for changing but all my AN was untouched. Was this a glitch? Have they ninja'd it? Or is your first swap free of charge?

I have a question to follow up, how long do I now have to wait to swap back to my original nation of Windurst? I went immediately back to Windy after getting my lance and spoke to NPC there who just told me to bugger off Cobra territory. So guessing it's at least till past conquest tally before she'll consider letting me rejoin Windurst? And is that when they'll punish me for "treachery" and take away two medals? If anyone else has done this and could share their experiences it would be appreciated. Not that your nation of allegiance really matters much in the past (yet at least).

Remember, there are 3 quests that pertain to joining a nation. If you only complete one of them, the other 2 stays flagged with you. If you decide to switch nations, you can complete the quest and it's a freebie for you. But if you decide to go back to your original country, then you'll be docked the medal and notes.

I figured that much by now, what I'm trying to find out now is how long do I have to wait till I can rejoin Windurst? Waiting past JP midnight and zoning so far haven't worked, so living with the assumption that it's till conquest tally on Sunday at least. If anyone else knows better please let me know.

Since you switched, can you answer a question for me. When you do campaign ops for your new nation does it show up in your mission completed log?

i.e. Streetsweeper I (S) and Streetsweeper I (W) if you have done both? I'm curious.

Yes. Your completed missions list will have both (S) and (W) listed. So yeah, a real completionist would have to swap to all 3 nations at some point to do all campaign ops available.

Crystal Fist II (W) doesn't show in screenshot but it's still on the list.
