Jawsome lag!

I would randomly get really bad lag, so I ran process monitor to see wtf is going on. Turns out, it's this:

What the hell is going on here and why is it causing my entire laptop to basically freeze for 4-5 seconds until it's done? It does this like once a minute.

Hint: It's the highlighted stuff.

Do me a favor, run Ipconfig /release, then ipconfig /renew, then ipconfig /all and let me know how long your DCHP lease is until it expires.

Someone with a lot more networking knowledge may be more help, but it looks like maybe your DHCP lease is set to like 60 seconds?

What kind of router are you using?

Edit: Did a little googling and it seems the DHCP request once a minute is somewhat of a common occurence. I would check into that being the issue. If you can manually set the lease time on your router, I would attempt that first...

Well I wouldn't rule it out completely... something is going on with your DHCP once a minute. Sadly I don't know enough to help you too much further outside of googling similar issues....

Actually another link says this too... try disabling that notification that you are connected; so dumb if that is it. Poster said you can leave the disconnection one... I'd just disable them both, who really needs that anyways... it's like the label on a light switch. If it's on you can see its on, if its off, you can't see to read.

Try either setting your DHCP on your router to lease forever, or set up a static IP (can do this in your windows TCP/IP configuration).

How're you connecting, wireless or wired?

Have you ever installed a vpn client to connect to a remote network? I've seen VPN clients do this before.

I turned it off and the registry paging stopped. I can't test the lag until I get home as I fixed it through remote connection.

Router's max is 1 day, and I'm connecting wirelessly. The link that was given in the previous post said that setting a static IP does remove the DHCP entries, but the lag is still there.

Nope. I use logmein for remotely connecting.

If your laptop is freezing for 4-5 seconds It's not going to be 100% network related as far as connectivity/through put. This is something that must be putting a load on your CPU in order to lock your system up. DHCP request and leasing takes almost no bandwidth or CPU usage, I don't see this as the core issue, although it maybe a symptom(sp) of whatever the issue at hand is.

*1st thing you always ask as an IT person: When did it work last?
*Have you changed/modified/installed/deleted anything since then?
*If so, what?
*If you think this is a network issue, have you tried your laptop at someones elses house/work?
* If you have, does it still lag?
*If yes to above, it's your computer, not the network, go back to the first thing.

You missed the point, clearly. You said your computer was locking up for a few seconds.
This question was only in response to see if it was network lag, or a load on your CPU. I guess it would help if you had mentioned this only happens in FF. Or does it? Knowing how a computer works doesn't matter if this is a newtwork issue. Anyone can put some parts together and install and OS. Thanks for jumping my shit for trying to helping though.

It didn't fix the problem. I narrowed it down to something called "Process Profiling". It happens whenever the lag happens. Here is what it looks like:
