Arrived here in Atlanta for my internship..any suggestions?

Seems like I'm going to get pretty bored really quick. My extended stay's TV has no inputs for games..(I'm going to have to buy a TV with my first pay check)...and the internet is almost dial up slow. I know these are trivial complaints in the big picture, but anyone live near by?

I think I may hit up some of the malls eventually and maybe Six Flags if I ever get a weekday off. Weekends probably will be too packed to go, but I may have no choice. Anyone have any experience in this city as far as fun things to do?

i live about 40 minutes south of atlanta, but i hate the city so i'm not sure i could help much other than suggest a few good restaurants up there. i'll talk to a few of my friends who go to school in ATL and see if they can tell me some cool things to do in the city.

Trust me I've noticed. I'm used to black people, but not this many. Though my area seems to be safe being in the industrial suburb of Norcross rather than the inner city. I'm afraid I'm going to miss the good Tex-Mex food of Texas.

if you're in norcross though normally theres a lot of mexicans too, nowhere near the number of blacks as if you were to go into atlanta.

Go to a Braves game at Turner Field. It's fun there.

Other than that, as other said, get used to lots of black folks.

Also, I live in Alabama, and may be going to a Braves game sometime in the near future. Maybe I'll bring a cake.

I live in Gwinnett County (about 35 miles to Atlanta). I moved here about a year ago. If you find anything to do, tell me about it; I sure as hell can't find it.

The only thing I noticed living here would be the large selection of restaurants to choose from. Other then that it's pretty much, the mall, (which gets old pretty fast). Maybe you could take a trip to stone mountain or something (if thats your kind of thing).

Georgia Aquarium? Largest one in the world. I haven't been there yet, but I hear its nice.

Grab a newspaper and check the arts/entertainment section for a good show/comedian/concert.

I've been to a Braves game twice and it was nice. Just stay away from the homeless guys in the parking lot. Seriously.

I live in Coweta, about as far from Atlanta you can get without drifting into bat country and I agree with whoever said they can't find anything to do in GA, its the most boring place I've ever lived

I moved to Roswell which is about 15 minutes from Atlanta and I don't have many nice things to say about this area lol. The traffic here is horrible and no matter what time of the day it is you will find the traffic to be annoying. I don't normally mind people but I am constantly woken up at 7AM to spanish music blasting from the next apartment. I mean my walls vibrate because its so friggen loud, Roswell is complete garbage and there are like 10,000 mexicans in my complex and when I say it is never quiet here I mean it. RIGHT THIS SECOND there is someone blasting music downstairs and its almost 2am...its rediculous. Just don't expect this place to be magical or anything and it makes me miss Ft Lauderdale so much more.

P.S. Lenox Mall is off 400 and its a pretty decent mall if you want somewhere to go, its kind of upscale though but they have some decent resturants and stores. Only thing I like about atlanta is the amount of asian woman here, its amazing Other than that enjoy Mexico I mean Georgia.

I go to Atlanta once a year for work, it's horrible and I hate it. But as far as crappy east coast-ish cities go, it's not nearly as bad as Orlando.

Anyway they are all right, Georgia blows. I hope you enjoy fishing, hunting, watching tv, sitting on porch looking at pine trees, climbing a mountain and looking at pine trees, and playing games... cause that's all we have.
