POL and the Registry

This morning I was forced to reformat my internal hard drive. My FFXI is installed on my external drive. I figured once I imported my registry backup from last month, FFXI would work all right, but I guess I was wrong hehe.

So what I would like to ask is: is there a way to edit my registry that will get my FFXI up and running again, or do I need to reinstall it over again on my external? If it is possible, can someone explain it? Thanks

edit the reg file in notepad to point to the new install

Can you explain a little more in-depth please? I've never edited a registry entry and I don't want to muck things up ^^;

it should be the same path program files\playonline\squareenix\etc you should just have to open the .reg in notepad and change all the drive letters
