julie benz is so hot
brb need to fap after the trailer.
This season may be more epic than last.
I can't wait for this, Dexter is just quality acting and writing the whole way through. Although I'm on the fence now with Doakes, I really liked him and the last scene with

was extremely sad. I get the feeling Maria might do some investigating and be on Dexter's trail though.
Maybe for a little while, but I think Jimmy Smit's character is going to be causing most of the trouble. I see the main plotlines for this season as such:
btw if you haven't watched any of Dexter and plan to, there are probably some spoilers after this point.
1 - Dexter realizes he enjoys the act of killing, and begins to ingore Harry's rules. In season 2 he successfully evaded the FBI's best man, that has to play on his confidence and his ego. He will get sloppy and Jimmy Smits will be there to catch the details. Smits gives the case to his up and coming prodigy...
2 - ...Deb. She is hot on his tail and improving her skills by the day. Dex will have to be very crafty in order to both throw his sister off his trail and at the same time encourage her professional development. I don't think we'll see a showdown between Deb and Dex this season - that would be an entire season on its own (season 4 yes please). Deb is Dexter's only physical and real connection to Harry - I don't see this sharing the spotlight with another main plot (ignoring Harry's rules and losing control), and it sure shouldn't be a sub plot.
The trailer seemed to play up both these points - Dexter losing control and Deb closing in. Jimmy Smits' character seems to be the necessary fuel for the fire.
As for Rita and the kids, they've been used to ground Dex in humanity in the first two seasons, and to give him a family to care about (ie when lila threatens them). I expect to see the same in the third season.
Also we may more of Angel... now that Doakes is gone, Angel is pretty much the only cop (besides Deb) that has any background story with Dex. I wouldn't be surprised to see him up in the mix.
Anyway I'm drinkin and apparently I like talkin about this stuff - just wanted to toss some ideas out there. I can't wait to see what this season brings. It just needs to start RIGHT NOW!
I wish someone would leak a couple episodes early like last season. This season is going to own, I especially like the part where he talks about the higher power and how he believes someone wants him to do what he does. That could just be a lone quote but I get the feeling it might be a little more than that at this point.
Although they did touch upon Deb hunting Dexter in season 2, "makes for an awkward family dynamic", I can't see them pushing Deb on Dexter too much.
Looks amazing, season 2 topped season 1 imo. Really hoping season 3 continues to do the same.
plot in 2nd season was better than plot of 2nd book.
this trailer looks pretty hot.
Trailer looks awesome I just got into this show a few months ago and watched the first 2 seasons all the way through after I saw the first episode. This fall is going to be awesome for shows I like.
I hope they don't blow it! If I were a writer, I would have run out of ideas by now and there's only so much they can do without repeating the same things or making ridiculous scenarios. Prison Break, 24, Heroes, Scrubs used to be good/great shows, but they've gone to crap lately and maybe I've just lost trust in most TV writers outside of the Lost guys.
yeah the line about a higher power is taken from season 2 when dexter pretty much accepted the fact that he was gonna get cought (I laughed my ass off to the part where he visualized how deb would react when he told her he was the bay harbor butcher)
anyway, I chime in with the rest that this season is looking like pure hawtness
ps. I didnt even know they were planning on continuing the story o_O:
As long as a season never tells the story from book 3 I will be happy.
There are books? Need moar info.
