I'm sure it was free when I played it like 3 years ago. Was a very meh MMO and I don't see why anyone would have paid for it when there's much better options if you're gonna pay to play.

OB came out and i had a fair amount of fun playing it, but i wasn't gonna pay to play a game that was so undeveloped when it went p2p. it's come a long way though, i guess they added most if not all the planets and it's all fairly well done from when i've checked on it over the years.

i can't say i wasn't expecting it to go f2p but now that it has i wouldn't mind giving it another shot.
