Well I am pretty sure it will be a continuation since the ending of Shadow of the Colossus has an ICO reference.

Seriously... I can't even begin to imagine how amazing the original SOTC would have looked on PS3 technology. It was still a damn good game with great graphics for it's time either way.

A long time ago there was an article for STOC2 and hinted was a co op mode. Wrap your brain around that one.

Yes it was, at least I think so. The baby had a helmet that looked a LOT like ICO's from the original game.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe Ueda ever mentioned Ico and SotC being related.

He confirmed SotC was a prequel.

He hinted at ICO being a spiritual sequel. The stories can be connected if you wanted, but the relationship remains vague at best.

I've been waiting for a new ICO/SoTC for years now. I need my fix. SoTC had some amazing music, even better atmosphere (seriously, how do you make that up?) and great gameplay and story.

Even tho the idea probably wasn't new the execution of SoTC was very good to say the least. They really made those colossus feel huge and I found them pretty logical or at least not as vague to fight like AV (for example).

SOTC is my FAVORITE game by far after FF9. I love that game (and Ico, for that matter) so much, and I can't wait for the new one. I've told so many people "I'm not buying a PS3 until SOTC2 comes out" and as others have said in this thread, that time may be near. I'm really, really, REALLY excited about this. Oh my god.

god yes. Love both games. I hope they don't put a number next to it though... I like how they kept sotc and ico linked without becoming a sequelfest; each game is well-defined on its own.

They could do us one even better and, if the game gets published, keep the Japanese box art for the NA versions. The art for the JP edition of Ico was beautiful, but it was just laughable on the NA cover.

Never played ICO, but Shadow of the Colossus is an amazing game, and everyone should play it. Everyone.
